Unless I see something more convincing that French did this, I'll withhold judgement until I can learn more about this.

You need to see the first video, too. It shows the protestors crossing over a line into a road then the French fire warning shots. Some civilians push the crowd back. Also, in the crowd is a black soldier with rifle.

Still, it doesn't hurt to get the tape out there for allot of people to see, then the French can explain themselves, and 'experts' can look at it.

They sure as hell didn't give our Nobel Marine any benefit of the doubt though.

I downloaded #2 and could not tell who was shooting. The only people I saw with guns were soldiers and they appeared to be French by the color of their skin and the flags on the vehicles. The crowd (all black) appeared to be armed with nothing but whistles.

Well, the only ones on scene with guns were the French troops. They left in an orderly retreat and were not under hostile fire or anything when they left.

As I said though, there is no indicator in the video as to what sparked this. All we really see is a bunch of dead, dying, and wounded natives.

We need to hear the rest of the story.

lol, i can't read it either. I just did a check on the filename to see if it was hosted somewhere else and a couple french sites came up and one russian site i believe. but what I found interesting those is the date on the french forum site which was the 16th of this month..

I certainly can't tell from the video whether the French troops were receiving fire from somewhere or not. Certainly the firing went on long enough to lead me to believe that they were.

No one in the crowd that I saw carried a weapon. But that doesn't mean anything really. I can envision a situation where the French troops are surrounded by the crowd as they were when they start receiving incoming small arms fire from somewhere. Their impulsive reaction will be fire at wherever their instincts tell them the shots come from. That very same thing has happened to our boys in Iraq - on much smaller scale thank God.

A sad situation but it may just be one of the realities of modern warfare. If it happened as I outlined above then I would not charge the French troops with anything anymore than I would charge our guys who have also found themselves in such a situation before.

I think we need to go back to the UN and get sanctions on France and not the Ivory Coast.

Well nothing new, Just another video of the Brave French Soldiers doing what they do best .... Killing unarmed Civilians!!

Time to float a Carrier and a couple of LHA's (Amphibious Assault Ships) off of the Ivory Coast and watch the French Surrender again. I bet this will be the first time they will surrender to an unmaned airplane, history in the making !

As noted, this was from Nov 6th and COULD have been manipulated to make it look like the French did this.
