Blacksburg is still fairly conservative. The liberal professors keep to themselves. The hippie population has just about disappeared.

Yeah, I checked after the election, and Bush carried Montgomery County by 9% points(state result). Still less than the surrounding counties where Bush's lead was 20% points of more lol.
Maybe Montgomery County is a state 'bellwether' lol.

Correction, Bush carried Montgomery County by 11%. My numbers were from right after the election, 11% was the final count.
I got bored, and curious so I did some checking. How Montgomery County(VA Tech) voted vs it's surrounding counties.
Montgomery County - Bush wins by 11%
Floyd County - Bush by 25%
Pulaski County Bush by 25%
Roanoke County Bush by 30%
Giles County - Bush by 17%
Craig County - Bush by 30%
Just to throw it in, My county, Carroll. Bush won by 36%. Our area of VA is what keeps it good ol' red, cheers!
