Why would the Chilean security guards not offer the normal deference to the security detail of a visiting dignitary? Was this an offhanded international slap at President Bush; something to embarrass the US? President Bush stepped up and took care of the incident personally, instead of instructing someone else to do it. I love the man! I still suspect Chile wanted to embarrass the US and the President.
Whata man.
It's the macho....it's their country and we are implying that they can't do the job...very understandable seen from the male spanish side........
I agree with you about the slap from Chileans. They are really irate about Iraq. Can't figure--they're nowhere near the region. Must just be a hate America thang.
It makes me proud of W, too. The world can call him a cowboy all they want--about the only manly man leading a nation. I love cowboys and Texans--that's why I married one.
vaudine
Galena, there were communist protests scheduled for there, against Bush.
Yes, I agree with all of you, that we are blessed in the President we now have, I too consider President Bush to be a man, a real one.
But, I am not smiling.
What a perfect opportunity to cut the President out of the crowd, and kill him. He stepped out of the group.
Keep your eyes open, I am finding threats against President Bush in some mighty strange places.
Lot of people want Bush dead.
If so, they failed. Meanwhile, providing a perfect opportunity for our President to distinguish himself on the international stage and show these pukes exactly what kind of man is driving this bus.
Go gettem George!
This minor incident notwithstanding, Chile is one of our best friends and allies (and trading partners) in Latin America.
I kind of doubt it!
