This is unbelievable! What were the chilean security agents thinking?! The whole point of the US secret agents is to be with the president and be ready to protect him anytime, anywhere.
I personally think they could be thinking on the line "You are in my country, Bush, and under our laws we are authorized toprotect you and not the US bodyguards.". This involves sovereignty and jurisdiction.
They have a job to do as well. I suspect we'll find that there was some confusion about which Secret Service agents were to accompany the leaders inside the building. But then again you never know.
