Who has egg on their face today? The Chilean police who screwed up and caused the mess? Or the Secret Service who had to be rescued by the man they are protecting? And do you think our SS were wigged out when the president injected himself into the mess. My guess is that they thought the president was endangering himself. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in behind the scenes discussions on this one! LOL!

That's what I said last night. My first thought was "Way to go W!" and then I thought about how he put himself in the middle of an armed, chaotic situation.

That was my thought exactly as I looked at those great pics. Here he was reaching into a mass of people totally unprotected. With proper coordination this could have been a disaster. Thank the Lord nothing happened here.

The demands and facts of operations for the US security detail are known and agreed to before hand. Some of the Chilean security team are either idiots, or were trying to pull something off.

uh... you? You are presuming to know the secret service plan? The chilean guard's plan? Bush's?

Seems to me the prez made a good move. He put himself close to his protection- which is where he always belongs. Also, if this was a plot to seperate him from his guy and get him out in the open room alone, he foiled that pretty well also. Do you think Bush had a lot more support out side that room than in it?
