BTW, we are going to Montreal for a visit starting Thanksgiving Day for 3 addt'l days. Any tips, advice, suggestions about Montreal from anyone reading this?
Wife, daughter and myself don't know anyone there, just going to see the city. Any reason to be on guard?

Montreal is a great town; it's my hometown. Stick to the "west end" and you'll be fine, otherwise be prepared to speak French!

Lot's of superb restaurants, including great simple family restaurants. The list is too long. Where will you be? What part of town?

It's a fairly safe city. Don't leave any valuables in your car, as it'll get stolen (the whole car, that is!) So long as you're west of St. Laurent Blvd. you should be OK.
