It's all very interesting, isn't it, that homosexual activists have abandoned their earlier rhetoric of homosexuality as a revolutionary act and now insist that nearly every famous person of any import was homosexual.

One gets the impression that they're a bit worried about themselves.

Actually, and I'm not being facetious, I wouldn't be surprised. During his early career, including during WWII, John Wayne shared a house with another man and although the stories I know are pretty clearly about a male heterosexual who liked to have a good time, I would not be shocked to see these stories recycled and spun, and even some of his movies reevaluated, with homosexuality in mind. In fact, I'd be surprised if some film professor somewhere hadn't already done this.

BTW, the stories are mainly from one of my college professors, who wrote a biography of John Ford)

I agree it would be stupid, but are you saying you'd be surprised to hear the argument from a gay activist scholar?

Boswell sounds like a Herbert Marcuse acolyte. On page 23 of Daniel J. Flynns' "Intellectual Morons", he writes:

"In Marcuse's world, critical thinking, and even logic, is the enemy. In "One Dimensional Man" he condemned 'the process by which logic became the logic of domination.' If an ideal is devoid of sound logic, Marcuse argued, the problem is not always the idea but sometimes logic itself.....logic is a tool of oppression......because it can be used to debunk many ideas he thinks are good ones."

So for Marcuse, and as for Boswell and the Left in general, whatever they wish to pretend is real and true, becomes those things. Fantasy is reality, and lie is truth.

I don't know if Boswell was consciously following Marcuse or not. Boswell's Ph.D. was from Harvard (1975) and he taught at Yale. He was a medievalist; I don't know who he studied with at Harvard. The book in question was published in 1980. I believe his death at the age of 47 was from AIDS.

Marcuse was a homosexual.

Not that that necessarily means he was evil and stupid. But he happened to be all three.

That's comes of being self educated. Some neat words, and then some terrible gaps.

This is a notion that queers have been pushing ever since they started trying to legitimize their perversion. My first exposure to this nonsense was, of all places, in seminary. All it proves is that they have no understanding of an intimate friendship apart from sexuality.

I didn't know he was, but that makes sense of why he was so obviously running away from truth, reality, and guilt. And like a Pied Piper of corruption, he seduced others to join him in his madness so he wouldn't be alone in his of guilt. In effect, he created an army of the "guilty".

The kiss was an ancient form of greeting, much like our handshake today

The French and Arab countries still do this today.

How sick is the idea that Brotherly love means...the practice of perversion.

What lengths those with pathology of paraphilic disorder will go to justify their deep and insidious desires as good, right and true.

Yes, But with Jacque Chirac and Arafat the sexuality factor cannot be so easily dismissed! :^)JMO
