any takers on my bet that one of our illustrious gang of the usual MN gun grabbers will try to ban SKS rifles this

I did not see the make of rifle. SKS is an assault rifle, but there are lots of rifles that hold 3 or more cartridges. Do we know it was SKS? SKS is a piece of crap: kind of a Saturday-night-special rifle.
That will not make any difference to the gun grabbers. The shootings could have been done with a single shot rifle and they would still want all hunters (and everyone else) disarmed.
