Stars Come Out for Rita Cosby Alzheimer's Benefit

The stars came out Monday night to honor Fox New Channel ace reporter Rita Cosby for the work she's done for Alzheimer's research at a gala benefit held at the Time Warner Center in New York City.

The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation held its Alzheimer's Awareness Month event at the Center's Jean Georges' V-Steak House and the Stone Rose, where Cosby was feted for her 40th birthday.

The top shelf guest list included former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Soprano's star Lorraine Bracco, former astrounaut Buzz Aldrin, Geraldo Rivera, former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, singer Michael Bolton, and O.J star witness Kato Kaelin, among others. "I'm going to dedicate my 40th birthday to a landmark cause," the Emmy Award winning newswoman told WABC Radio's Monica Crowley. "We're hoping to raise millions of dollars for Alzheimer's research."

The event featured a gala auction where prizes included a private tour of President Reagan's Santa Barbara ranch conducted by his son, radio host Michael Reagan.

"This is a cause near and dear to Michael," Cosby said, noting that his father died from Alzheimer's in June.

The host of "The Big Story Weekend Edition," Cosby has made her mark in broadcast journalism with stories that range from high profile criminal cases to interviews with world leaders.

In 2002, Cosby interviewed Yassir Arafat when his Ramallah compound was under seige by the Israeli Defense Force. That same year, she uncovered a secret meeting between the Saudi royal family and ex-president Clinton, a development that had the Bush White House fuming.

In 2001, Cosby obtained an exclusive death row interview with Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh, during which he made a chilling reference to Osama bin Laden - five months before the 9/11 attacks.

I leave Fox the minute she comes on. Can't stand her.
She's so ecstatic about HER take on the Peterson Murder;
gloats about HER interview with so-and-so...blah, blah, blah! The first priority in the story is Rita Cosby!
And her voice machine guns my ears.

Gee...sounds like I listen to her too much at that!

That explains why she thought The Supreme Court had ruled in Gore's favor in the Florida recount, when they had ruled in the Bush Campaign's favor.

I'll never forgive that misinterpretation disguised as news.

Rita Cosby is NOT a good reporter...she sensationalizes news, drops names, and really blew FOX news coverage during the Supreme Court Presidential Recount story of 2000. While network reporters scrambled to interpret the meaning of the court decision, she got it backwards! Repeating, she is NOT a good news reporter!!!

God bless Rita Cosby. I can't count on one hand, let alone both hands, the number of people I personally know who has been suffering or has suffered this dibilitating disease.

I thought I was going to be sick and/or faint when I heard her mis-report that decision. I'll never forget it.

BTW, does anyone know what McVeigh said about bin Laden?

No! Replace her with Dari Alexander, but I do wish she would get rid of those damn glasses. She is hot and smart too.
