Burlington Coat Factory promotes t-shirts of communist murderer Che Guevara

Burlington Coat Factory has become "Burlington Che Factory." The company ran television ads promoting sales of its Che Guevara t-shirts in August (see photo above) and despite complaints was still selling the shirts in its stores nationwide in November. Freestar Media plans to expose this outrage with a video press release to national television news organizations in conjunction with a boycott and protest. Who was Che Guevara?

Che was a Marxist solider who aided the Cuban revolution. He advocated the philosophy of communism which is responsible for over 100 million murders and he personally supervised the executions of scores of people himself. One of Che's famous quotes was "Hatred is an element of struggle; relentless hatred of the enemy that impels us over and beyond the natural limitations of man and transforms us into effective, violent, selective, and cold killing machines. Our soldiers must be thus; a people without hatred cannot vanquish a brutal enemy."

Learn more about Che below under "Educate Yourself".

Four things you can do:

1. Tell all your friends by e-mail the reason why you won't shop at Burlington Coat Factory.

2. Contact Cuban-American groups and other groups that oppose communism (objectivists, libertarians, republicans, etc.) and ask them to picket the stores on Saturday December 4, 2004 at 12 noon.

3. Contact Burlington Coat Factory and demand BCF fire their advertising agency, Scheer Advertising, and every BCF employee that was aware of, and approved the advertisement or the decision to sell Che shirts in the stores.

4. Sponsor a video press release. As a video production company we can videotape and edit together a 1 minute video press of this story and beam by satellite to TV newsrooms nationwide at very low cost. However a sponsor is needed to cover costs of: acquiring old footage of Che and Cuban executions, and for a national press release and satellite broadcast to TV newsrooms. This may cost between $1,000 and $2,000.

The local Burlington Coat Factory is in a part of town where I just don't feel very safe. It seems to cater to a different crowd here in Raleigh.

Che Guevara is promoted as a hero in our schools - even in middle schools.

The sales should be tracked - it would give a good argument to support that the schools are pushing communist bilge to our kids. (Wont see George Washington tees)

My grandson, in 7th grade, was assigned as essay on Che.

We did did Internet research and I let him read and extrapolate as he saw fit.

His paper was not a glowing account of the "hero" and he not only got a poor grade but a dressing down.

Hello, folks?

Ditto on a paper on the Holocaust and Hitler. In other words, my grandson "went off the reservation" into independent research, bringing in 'facts' - NO NO

CHE SHOW ONLY GLORIFIES PORTRAIT OF A RUTHLESS KILLER

http://www.today.ucla.edu/1997/971010CheShow.html

BY SARA LEQUERICA DE LA VEGA

The decision by the Fowler Museum of Cultural History to mount the exhibition "Che Guevara: Icon, Myth and Message" has painfully shocked and offended the Cuban-American community of Los Angeles.

As it is, this exhibition demonstrates how Guevara’s "admirers" have constructed, manipulated and displayed his image for mainly political ends. The idealization of the Argentine revolutionary, who was a key figure in the Cuban Castro Revolution, portraying him as a romantic hero, intellectual and freedom fighter, contributes to the distortion of Ernesto "Che" Guevara.

This man, who ordered the execution of countless human beings while in charge of the notorious La Cabaña prison in Havana, who terrorized Cuban society and who denied freedom to thousands of citizens whom he considered "deviants" or "anti-revolutionaries" can never be accepted as a hero, martyr or -- the shock of it -- a saint. The blood of thousands of Cubans is on the hands of "Che" Guevara. The families who lost loved ones cannot condone this exhibition and must protest and express their anger and disgust. The revulsion of Cubans to this event is as valid and honest as would be that of the Jewish community if confronted with the idealization of Adolf Hitler.

Ernesto "Che" Guevara dreamed of creating the "New Man" at any cost. During the Cuban missile crisis, he was in favor of a nuclear war because he believed that a better world could be built from the ashes, regardless of the cost in millions of lives. By adhering to his anti-American feelings and pro-Soviet stance, he achieved a role in history that stands for one failure after another, both in Cuba, as well as in all the other countries where he went to promote and disseminate Castro’s Revolution.

Ernesto "Che" Guevara had all the characteristics of a ruthless dictator and opponent of freedom. He believed that the end justifies the means, and he fanatically adhered to this gospel. This "idealized icon" is the one who, as a modern day Grand Inquisitor, eliminated many of his foes with a single pistol shot to the back of their heads. And he is also the same one who authored these enhancing words printed in the identity booklets of young Cuban soldiers sent to fight in Angola: "Blind hate against the enemy creates a forceful impulse that cracks the boundaries of natural human limitations, transforming the soldier in an effective, selective and cold killing machine. A people without hate cannot triumph against the adversary."

Guevara’s elevation as symbol of goodness, due to the self-indulgence and frivolity of pampered Western pseudo revolutionaries, speaks clearly of their lack of critical objective analysis, forgetting that, as Anthony Daniels states, "The difference between ‘Che’ Guevara and Pol Pot was that Guevara never studied in Paris."

Being UCLA a first-rate research university and a place of knowledge, it is expected that the public conferences planned for October 24 and 25 will include exiled Cuban historians and intellectuals who will shed a different light from the one promoted by the exhibition. This way, history will be properly served.

Sara Lequerica de la Vega is a professor emeritus at Los Angeles Valley College

I love these shirts!

It's just a trick to get people to voluntarily identify themselves a clueless jackasses.

Without these shirts, it can take up to thirteen seconds of conversation to conclusively identify them.

Contact your local American Legion or VFW and ask for time under "New Business" at the monthly meeting. Explain what's going on with the Che worship and request a dozen vets to go with you to the local school board to confront the communists.

Contact local media before the school board meeting and ask that cameras record the event for the local newscast.

If the teacher doesn't apologize for promoting a communist mass murderer, ostracize and shun the teacher. Go to local food markets and gas stations and request that they not sell this teacher food or gasoline. If you can get the backing of vets, probably informally as I doubt vet groups would pass a formal resolution condemning this teacher but they might, let businesses know that local vets support this action.

Plaster the teacher's picture up on community bulletin boards explaining what happened.

I'm intrigued by the Hitler / Holocaust paper you speak of. What facts did your son raise that got him in trouble?

Well, for one thing, each student was given the name of an actual concentration camp inmate to pin on their clothing - and would be told at the end of the 2 weeks study if "they" were one who died or one who lived. all victims were Jewish and only Jews were victims, according to the 'lesson.'

My grandson also pointed out that, yes, the deliberate genocide of the Jews was horrific and must never be allowed again - but that there were equal numbers of NON-Jews that were also targeted: Hitler wanted all poles killed - for the land; he ordered all gypsies and homosexuals killed and then there were the hundreds of thousands killed for aiding Jews.

He brought out that there are two main groups of Jews today that deal with the Holocaust: the group that perpetuates only the Jews that were killed, and the ones that also pay homage to those who died or survived that weren't Jewish but gave unstintingly and at great cost, to aid the Jews.

This later Jewish group are still actively tracking down actual people who helped and survived or their descendants, to pay homage to them.

this was all information the teacher did not want. One rebuff was because: "We have a Jewish student in our class that may be offended by this information." - (She couldn't answer my grandson's question: "How?" - just made her angrier.)

My grandson eventually quit public school, did on line, independent high school and is now in college in Texas.

OK, talking to myself. The term "Holocaust" is used in a specific meaning of extermination of approximately 6 mln. Jews at the hands of the Nazis as part of the "final solution". This does not negate the fact that many millions of other people were killed by the Nazis or as a result of WWII nor does it deny the noble role of people saving the Jews during the war and the etrnal gratitude of the Jewish people towards them(the Alley of the Righteous of the World in Jerusalem's Yad va Shem Museum). There is no school of though or a movement among the Jews "perpetuating" what you said (PC-traumatized public school teachers and mental ward patients do not count). You and your grandson seem like decent and thoughtful people, so please do not through careless allegations like that. This is what may offens the Jewish people and it did.
