ALBANY - Anti-U.N. sentiment is spreading in the state Legislature, with at least one Democrat, Assemblyman Dov Hikind of Brooklyn, joining the opposition to expanding and renovating the world organization's headquarters on the East Side of Manhattan.

Mr. Hikind, the deputy majority whip, told The New York Sun yesterday that he will fight any legislation that helps the United Nations, which he called a "cesspool" of racism, anti-Semitism, and opposition to Israel. He predicted other members of the Assembly majority will take the same position.

"I do believe in international cooperation," he said. "I do believe in a perfect world where nations would work together. ...But that's not what the United Nations is all about. ...On principle, I want to do everything to make their life miserable."

So, it looks like the RINO Bloomberg is the biggest backer of Kofi and his band of thieves.

If they want a new building perhaps they could build one in France with the oil for food money they stole.

Let’s see. On one side we have a couple of Brooklyn local pols. On the other, we have Bloomberg, Pataki, Manhatten, and the real estate industry. Hmmm, wonder how this one will turn out?

Get the UN out of our country and out of our wallets!

"The assemblyman who represents Turtle Bay, Steven Sanders, is sponsoring the planning bill, saying he believes the complex should be made as safe as possible against terrorist attacks for the benefit of the entire neighborhood."

Just lock the doors when they're all inside.

Also makes you wonder about Rudi - and why he supported the guy - but I guess he was better than a Demo. - or was he -

Need a drink - or two - or three - and to think out the question - Will the UN stay in the U.S. much longer?

Should we ask Soros - he seems to be pulling the strings - according to some - ?

"The project overcame opposition in Congress, which just approved a $1.2 billion construction loan. But it can't move forward without approval from Albany - and eventually city government - because the site of the proposed annex lies just outside the area set aside for the U.N. in state law."

A personal side note on this. Was standing on the observation deck at the Empire State Building, with the family and the wife's homosexual commie-lib-Dem NY-dwelling uncle, on a just-post-9/11 Sunday in October.

I commented: "I wish the UN would slide into the East River while we watched".

He replied: "It's Sunday. Only the cleaning people are there. It should wait until mid-morning on Monday."

The point being, that even the Left is starting to realize the moral bankruptcy of the UN.

Let them spend the money they stole from the Iraqi people if they want a new building. But evict them from the one the US built for them.

That might work...except the Iraqi's want the money BACK now...unfortunately it's been spent on bribes, kickbacks and to pay for the investigation into the Oil-for-Food disaster.

However...in going back to the article- it looks as though there could be some time left to at least write some protest letters..

The UN building is insulated with asbestos. I think FReepers should done white bunny suits and cordon the building to keep the delegates safe from this environmental disaster.

And the UN was pissed off that we offered them a no interest loan at that! They expected us to outright pay for it. Bush instead offered them a loan, and it really pissed them off.

As I have said before. Dov is a DINO, the only reason he's in the Demoicratic party is so that he caould run for assembly in his district. Thjis last election he put the word out for the Orthodox to vote for Bush. The result being that Bush carried Boro Park by over 80%. I should pay him a visit just for old time's sake.
