UNITED NATIONS (AP) -- Iraq has protested a U.N. decision to use $30 million in revenue from the U.N. oil-for-food program for Iraq to help pay for the investigation of alleged corruption in the humanitarian effort.

In a letter obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press, Iraq's U.N. Ambassador Samir Sumaidiaie argued that Security Council resolutions don't support the use of oil-for-food money "for an investigation into the internal practices of the United Nations in carrying out its duties."

"My government believes that the use of such funds has no legal basis," he said in a letter dated Nov. 19 to U.S. Ambassador John Danforth, the current Security Council president.

The U.N. is becoming more and more corrupt with each passing day.

So, the bad guys want to double dip: they corrupted the money, and now they also want to use the left-over money to pay the investigators...

The only thing analogous to this is if a burglar broke into your house, stole your plasma TV, life savings, and favorite dog, and when caught the police confiscated it to pay for the cost of catching him. This is deplorable.

Change that to "if the police broke into your house..."

Heard this last night on Fox. It's about time someone holds the UN accountable. Thank you Iraq. I can't wait until Annan gets his vote of no confidences and steps down. It will be fun watching how the European Media will NOT report that. This has been a very good month.

Hell, why don't we just slap the Iraqi people in the face! The U.N. steals their money and then decides the victims should pay in order to find out who stole it. Doesn't the U.N. have any money themselves? Friggin brilliant! How much longer is the world body going to put up with this crap? The U.N. should be ashamed, but you know they don't see why anyone would disagree with their policies, after all they always act for evryones best interest. Just ask the people in the Sudan. Talk about a no confidence vote. Doesn't anyone in the U.N. have any guts at all? Unbelievable!
