Just finished watching this week's edition of Inside the NFL on HBO and in the first ten minute segment Bob Costas, Dan Marino, Chris Collinsworth and Cris Carter talked about the incident from the Pacers/Pistons game in Detroit last Friday night and the implications for the NFL. In summary Bob Costas blamed fan behaviour in Detroit and in general on talk radio, a totally outrageous statement.

I listen to Mike and Mike in the morning on EPSN Radio (Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic), the Dan Patrick show on ESPN radio, The Zoo here on KOA in Denver with Scott Hastings (former NBA player) and Dave Logan (former NFL player), Sean Hannity, Hugh Hewitt, Laura Ingraham, and two other talk show hosts here on KOA in Denver, Mike Rosen and Jon Caldara... and not once in over all these years as a listener have I ever heard one of them ever advocate fan violence or say anything that could be taken as an endorsement of committing such acts at a sporting event.
Costas has some explaining to do. He needs to point out specific examples that back up his reasoning. Who said what, when they said it and on what station!

Costas is suffering from a rectally incarcerated cranium.

interesting. after the WWF, UFC, rap music, abundant examples of movie violence, ultra-violent video games, reality TV, the fragmenting family, and a culture that drips and oozes sex, bob costas wants to blame sports violence on talk radio.
the man should stick to football on a football show.

I don't buy it.
The average "talk radio" fan wouldn't be caught dead at an NBA game.

Yeah, Costas, in fact there was a talk radio host standing right next to the guy egging him on to throw that beer.
Personal responsibility, quaint concept, that.

Bob Costas? Didn't that that little twerp was still around.

I've heard Rome talk before about players retaliating against other players as the manly thing to do but don't recall him advocating that fans get in on the action.
Somehow I don't think Bob would feel at home here on FR, if you catch my drift.

Were you by any chance born in England, Canada, or another British Commonweath nation? Do you know why I ask? I was born in the United States as were my parents. My grandparents are from Ireland and Germany on my mother's side and Romania and Yugoslavia on my dad's side.
No, I do not know why you ask?

If I had to do a top ten list of vile media members, Costas would be right there with Prissy Matthews.

Costas has some explaining to do. He's just another vacant lib. He had a late-night interview show, at one point. And his opinions were clear. It comes as a surprize, to some, that policy-based, politicized liberalism is found out of the mouths of people in the sports world. Costas is one of those.
It's just as likely, really, that people had Costas in mind and were so repulsed by the image that they flew into a sudden rage! Bob's to blame to Artest shoving Wallace in the back.
Yep - that must explain it. Should FAX this to Bob-bb.

I get it, the spelling in behaviour... I work on an overnight shift and talk to people from the UK and Ireland all night long. I have picked up on some of their language peculiarities. And expressions: Cheers, Thanks a Million, Brilliant, etc. I hear those three expressions all night long as the phone support calls wrap up. By the time my shift ends my self-esteem is through the roof. ;)

Jim Rome is a hate-filled Pinko. If that is who Costas is referring to, he's right.
