To: Lonesome in Massachussets

I'd like to know what kind of camera they used. It would seem to me that the "meteorite" would be a long blur given the incredible speed that it likely was moving at.

Might have been the trail they photographed, but it looks like a distant contrail and glint off the water to me.

There have been networks of cameras photographing high altitude meteor trails for about forty years. See:
