what surprises me most, is that we have people who actually claim not to be bigots. I am certainly bigoted, but not racially as much as I am against stereotypical statements, posted as fact, by folk with an axe to grind.
I dislike ignorant people, and don't care where they come from, or of what color is their skin... I just don't want to have anything to do with them!
I was blessed by being raised by a military man. In the 50's and 60's, base housing was allotted by rank, not race. We had friends of all persuasions. We fought against each other, and for each other, at different times, just like siblings! We all shared a commonality with our parents choice of career, and the military did not tolerate then, what they have to put up with now!!!
We did get along!
