there is a clear distinction between socialism and fascism

I guess one could be considered 'global socialism' and the other 'national socialism' but they're still socialism.

Whether you realize it or not, you hit on the distinguishing factor.

Stalin decreed that socialism would in no form be rendered to Hitler!

Had Hitler succeeded in convincing the Japanese to attack Russia from the east, not the USA, then saved our fate until after Russia was defeated; we would be speaking German today!

My grandfather was an isolationist but he was wrong and FDR was right! Bad as I hate to say that!

Don't forget that a Fascist is nothing more than the first cousin of a socialist; the fascist believes in private property being controlled by state regulations [familiar?].
