Almighty and eternal God,
Protect these soldiers as they discharge their duties. Protect them with the shield of your strength and keep them safe from all evil and harm. May the power of your love enable them to return home in safety, that with all who love them, they may ever praise you for your loving care.

3300 from Texas National Guard are ready to deploy..
My prayers go with them and all who serve in harms way.

I suspect there is a reason the US (and Coalition allies) have kept their morale
high despite the attacks by the b@$tards that try to derail democracy with
bombings, beheading, and executions of good souls (like Margaret Hassan)...
they know via the Internet and satellite phones how many people are praying for them.
That being said, I still am ticked that more American talk-show hosts haven't gone
to Iraq/Afghanistan (or even Kuwait or neighboring areas) to do a week of
on-site broadcasts.
For comparison...Laura Ingraham has been talking, talking, talking about doing this...
so far...NOTHING.
(I'm still an avid Ingraham listener and like her a lot...this post is just
a prod to her to do the right thing!)
About the only talk-show host that's gone in harm's way to any degree...Dennis Prager
that's broadcast (at least once, maybe twice) from Israel since 9-11.

The reason our morale is so high here is because of people like ya'll back home. Knowing that we are going to come home to a grateful nation, and not the travesty that my fathers generation had to endure, makes this grisly task alot easier.
Words cannot thank SpanawayLori and everyone else who has adopted a soldier enough.
It is perhaps a blessing that more media have not come over here to do live feeds. We hate their guts. Even the ones who write neutral articles. They are only interested in profiting form our pain, our blood, our sweat and our tears.
I was interviewed by a writer form the New York times, along with several others. She chose not to use my words., opting for an account that showed Chaos and panic stricken soldiers scrambling wildly to get out of the chow hall. My account was somewhat different. Most of you all are probably familiar with my account by now.
It still gives me shivers to know that so many of you are praying so hard for us. We will not let you down.
Love and Godbless

Prayer request.
A FR Lurker...he RARELY posts. Mostly speaks his thoughts through freepmail. Sent me this note via freepmail today.
>>>Gots some rather bad news one of my cousins boys has disapeared in Iraq. He will show up either dead or on mission. This family doesnt run and he was indoctinated into our silly ass ways. If he is dead that will make 16 from our family either dead or disabled in this war we didnt get hurt this bad in Nam.
Hes been missing three days I just got the word. We have family with his mother.<<<<<
Can we all add some extra prayers for all of our troops?
I've personally gone through an above average amount of candles these past few months.

Hello TEXOKIE,
I just wanted to let you know that Lt. Col Sharon Jacko who has been stationed in Baghdad will be home next Wednesday as her time in Iraq is done!
Please pray for journey's mercies for her as she has been getting ready to leave and her military e-mail can no longer be contacted as of last night. Not quite sure what her status is of this very moment.
I'd like to add a new name to the list, Major Joan Salinas, who is stationed in Irbil. Her group has many needs which friends and I have been working on.
Thank you for this thread. :)

Greetings to all the Prayer Warriors holding vigil for the Troops! We finally got our computer problems ironed out. We changed service in order to take advantage of the new DSL service being offered in our area. We were so eager to get out of modem he** (and the bugs we were experiencing from our inadequately protected server)that we signed on before realizing we needed to run a new wire. The TEXOKIE household sometimes has a severe shortage of round tuits, but we finally unearthed one and so here we are!!
Warmest wishes to all with hopes that all here had a peaceful and beautiful Christmas and shall be having a very blessed New Year.
While I have not had the opportunity to contribute to the thread, I have read the above entries and I'm so very grateful that the work goes on; the Prayer Warriors are continuing to go to their prayer closets and doing the spiritual work which needs doing. I have been with you in spirit every day. Appreciation goes to amom for adding new names to our prayer list and for letting you know I didnt leave off the work at hand.
We have much work to do before us. We have the upcoming Iraqi elections, and we must be wary that Iran and North Korea and other countries pose many challenges to our nation, and possibly our military. By God's grace, may we avoid more fighting, but if it comes to that, we shall be there supporting our precious young men and women. May God indeed guide our President in walking the mine fields of the crises which are before him.
MERCIFUL FATHER,
We place before you all of the young men and women which are on our list. The ones who have been there in long standing as well as the ones who have recently been placed there. Enfold and bless in this way all our troops, allies, newly trained Iraqis, and all standing for Freedom who are in harm's way. Guide, guard, direct and protect them, each one, as well as the ones holding vigil for them. Grant each one a team of angels to keep them from harm. Grant them the special gifts of wisdom, courage, strength, protection, discipline, healing, love of service, mercy and the ability to be the beacon of Freedom for the people who have been newly liberated.
Father, we are grateful that the Inauguration celebrations were unmarred by any serious incidents. We are grateful that we have remaining at the helm this man who worships at your altar and who has made such a strong stand for Freedom throughout all the nations. Protect and guide him each day. When he comes before you in prayer, please grant that you will give him an extraordinary ability to see the Vision you have for each of the challenges before him, great and small. Show him your solutions to all the gnarly problems represented by China, N. Korea, Iran, and all other nations and situations throwing out problematic issues. Guide him in the prosecution of the War on Terror in all its facets. Bring to him the very clear solution and the steps which must be taken to protect our country and our borders according to thy Will. Grant our Representatives and Senators more than a glimpse of this Vision. Inspire each one to set aside personal concerns and seek for that which will best serve this nation.
We look to the end of the month when the Iraqi people will be for the first time partaking of the ritual which has become almost "old hat" in this nation: a free election. Father, there are people who will literally be taking their lives in their hands in order to participate. Please protect them, and gather into your arms those who have already been killed or maimed because of their actions in support of Freedom. Guard and protect the troops of our nation, our allies as well as the newly trained Iraqi troops as they work to protect the election preparations and the election itself.
Much is being held in the balance pending the outcome of the elections. The world is holding its breath to see what will happen. We hold the Vision and petition you for your intercession that indeed the victorious election in Iraq coupled with the recent Afghani election shall bode well for the new breezes of Freedom even now wafting through the Middle East and elsewhere.
We ask that you will take our hearts and minds and temper them each day so that we may gain in strength and wisdom and grow ever closer to being a fit instrument for your hands to play. Let all which we pray for be adjusted according to thy Holy Will which is perfect and full of grace.
Amen

Welcome back. Amen and Amen.
Heavenly Father, I ask that you would bind the hands of all terrorist groups and homicide bombers around the world. I ask that You would thwart every plan of theirs to cause death and destruction. And that You will cause their plans to back-fire. Give the coalition forces and the new Iraqi military spiritual eyes and ears so that they can see that which is hidden. I ask that You, Father, coordiante and direct a successful Iraqi election. Protect those who fight for freedom and democracy. I ask Father that you would grant traveling mercies to all of those coming home or going over. I ask this in Jesus' name and Your Holy Word. Amen.
