7 suicide cars found in Iraq mosque

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- A mosque raided by security forces in southern Baghdad contained a workshop to rig suicide car bombs, with seven vehicles ready for terror attacks, an Iraqi Defense Ministry official said Sunday.

National Guard forces raided the Sunni Muslim Al-Yassen Mosque in the Baghdad area of Abu Dshir on Saturday, said Gen. Saleh Sarhan. In addition to the seven cars, guardsmen found 30 rocket-propelled grenades, high-powered rifles, mortars and remote control detonators, Sarhan said.

He said the mosque leader and 18 other people were detained.

Anti-U.S. guerrillas used about 60 mosques in Fallujah, west of Baghdad, to stockpile weapons and provide cover during a U.S.-led offensive in the city earlier this month, the U.S. military said. One of the mosques was described as a general arms depot capable of equipping guerrillas across much of Iraq.

If I'm not mistaken, using a place of worship as a staging area for detonating explosives is a violation of the Geneva Accords. And the Western Media is virtually silent. Whoda thunk it. Guess they were too busy trying to scare up a court martial for a marine shooting a non-uniformed combatant during battle in another mosque.

Exactly.

These people are lucky we allow them to follow their religion in our Christian nation. They should allow anyone who wants to go into their mosques and see what they are doing. If they have nothing to hide whats the problem ?

My Church welcomes all, do their mosques ?

First, just inspect them and not destroy; second, only send in Muslim soldiers (ours and Iraqi) so as not to desecrate them. Interesting remark about Mosques and jihad.

The they are defiling our holy places myth BS has finally been exploded, if you'll pardon the pun.

In the future, any such whining should be totally ignored officially and unofficially.
The abuse of mosques is so well documented by now that any further protest should fall on permanently deaf ears.

Further, to punctuate the resolve not to give any such complaint any validity, any mosque found to contain anything bigger than a small arm, should automatically be razed.
These SMs* need to decide whether they need religion or weapons depots...

*SM© = Sweet Muslims

Never mind the media! Where is Soros' Human Rights Watch? Where are the alphabet soup UN commissions? Where are the Bugs and Bunny crowd? Where are the Belge ubercourts?

He said the mosque leader and 18 other people were detained.

Somehow I was wishing they were dealt a more Darwinian end.

Remember, in the pursuit of jihad anything is permissable. Anything. In sum, there is no such thing as determining moral code in Islam. It is always shifting as events and individuals determine.

This is the sort of thing that just pisses me off. Here we are, a freedom loving country, allowing people to practice whatever faith they desire - and our enemy is using our tolerance against us. Hey, those minerets on the mosques make GREAT aiming points - let's level these dens of terrorism once and for all....
