People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the radical vegetarian group that in an advertising campaign once compared the slaughtering of chickens to the murder of Holocaust victims, is taking aim at one of the world's largest kosher meat processors.
AgriProcessors Inc., the Postville, Iowa-based firm that markets meat under the Rubashkin and Aaron's Best label and is found in America's biggest supermarket chains, is being accused by the group of violating humane slaughter laws and Halacha, or Jewish ritual procedure.

Bump.
Bump.
This was inevitable.
There's a group of Jewish vegan/vegetarian nutbags on FR - FYI - you'll probably hear from them telling you how vegetarianism is the best way to keep Kosher. These folks have some very interesting views on the Talmud.
Me? I LOVE Kosher chicken! Yum!
waiiit a second. We have come conflicting liberal ideas.
Wouldn't something to do with RELIGION such as a koshier meat factory being sued in a STATE court be a violation of church and state?
hmm well not yet maybe, they still need to bad the Declaration of Independence first
Seems the PETA putzes didn't like that the poor were being fed (gasp) turkey on Thanksgiving! The PETA pukes demanded that the charities feed 'em TOFU instead.
Thankfully, PETA's demands were soundly ignored.
Sinister implications? That's a bit melodramatic.
This has zip to do with being Jewish and everything to do with their mission: harrass those who, in their view, don't treat animals the way they would like you to.
Speaking of animals, I heard a radio commercial for a chain restaurant touting its natural grain fed chicken and wonderful environment they were raised in.
Claims the chickens were happy. (before they were slaughtered).
Norway, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, and perhaps other countries either prohibit kosher slaughter entirely or prohibit it use on cows.

"One of the first steps in Adolf Hitler's anti-Semitic drive in the creation of his Third Reich was instituting a ban on the kosher slaughter of animals."
AgriProcessors Inc. ... is being accused by the group of violating humane slaughter laws and Halacha, or Jewish ritual procedure. If you think PETA is grousing now, just wait till they have to deal with the Third Temple and its continuous animal sacrifice.
Huh?
Is that the Viking kitties I hear?
Houston, we have a troll.
Oh, and Happy Zot! : )
I have a penchant for the occasional hot dog, and as such, I always buy kosher dogs with the idea that there's probably (hopefully) much less scary stuff in them than in normal dogs. So, I generally pick up Hebrew Nation.
I swear, everytime I hear about some animal-right vegan or whatnot get media ink, it's steak for dinner that night. Sometimes KFC - as I get "get one" as my incisors tear the flesh from the bones.
Sometimes, I'll opt for meat for a week or longer. I do like other stuff, buy I "go protien" when I hear from them.
I suggest everybody do the same.
Keep it up wiseguys, I'm doing Dr. Atkins proud!
Without reading the article are the vegans also going after halal slaugherhouses, you know, the Islamic version of kosher, well the Muslims took the idea from Judaism, draining the blood out of the animal first........
I mean, fair's fair huh
