Absolutely agree with every word of your post!
A "Church" is about the last place I belong, since I believe in God.
I am not a cultist type .
so sad
I think that your post explains everything perfectly. I've never known a druid to condemn ANYTHING.
We agree completely.
Homosexual Agenda Ping.
Yup, it's Looking Glass time. What's up is now called down, black is officially called white, daytime will now be called night, and sunset is now officially called morning.
I'm going to go to the library tomorrow and get "1984" and "Brave New World". I need to find out what's going to happen.
Actually, there's plenty of reason for cheer. The more the fanatic secularists, avowed atheists, rabid hedonism promoters, and their ilk reveal themselves, the easier it will be for those who haven't given themselves to the Dark Side to choose the Side of Light.
If anyone wants on/off this pinglist, ping me and ItsOurTimeNow.
In my mind, yes there are many sins that are worse than others. However, we do not think like God and that is not what he teaches.
I believe that when we are judged, each sin against God will be equal (with the exception of the sin of not accepting Jesus and repenting of our sins).
I am definitely not saying that we should ignore the sin of homosexuality. Rather, we should teach against it along with teaching against adultery, murder, thievery, etc.
Hmmmm....I wonder what he'd say about a gay person condemning another gay person just cuz they were a conservative?
Any pronouncements by the Archbishop of Canterbury on matters of religion should be taken about as seriously as one would take a pronouncement by a Luddite on which operating system to install.
Communion and Baptism are two Biblical ceremonies we are commanded to partake in if you are a believer.
Any pronouncements by the Archbishop of Canterbury on matters of religion should be taken about as seriously as one would take a pronouncement by a Luddite on which operating system to install.
Adieu Apostate Arsewipes.
Exactly correct.
However, Williams, Griswold and the Canadians want to re-write sexual ethics to put all forms of sexual practice into an equal context. Their vision is a society in which there is no homo-, hetro-, serial-, group-, trans-, sex. There is only sex and its all good.
Check out http://www.virtueonline.org for plenty Frank and Rowan's rantings about God "the Force" and other complete sewage-soaked preversions of Christianity.
The Episcopal Church in the USA (ECUSA) is already in rapid decline. The only thing keeping the institution alive are the piles of dead men's money that have been accumulated over the past 250 years (including some from George Washinton, himself).
It's sick. And its very sad. It's the lunatic liberal left completely run amok. Unfortunately in church we can't just vote 'em out.
The good news, however, is that less than 20% of the Anglican church is in the US/Canada/UK.
The heart of the church has moved to the Global South, primarily Africa. The true heart of the church is now in Nigeria, Uganda, Rawanda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, etc. With the exception of South Africa (under Archbishop Desmond Tutu, yech!) sub-saharan Africa is one big Red State.
The Episcopal Church in the US is currently imploding. Sometime in the spring the real schizm will come and Willy & Grizzy will be stuck with empty miters and no chicken dinners.
dung.
Church is exactly where sinners belong!
I wholeheartedly agree. He gives us the strength to overcome our sin. I was a basketcase and He lifted me up. Do I still sin? Yes. Do I try not to too? Usually. DO I seek His presence? All the time. It works and His yoke is light.
Wasn't the Anglican Church formed by King Henry VIII because he wanted a divorce that the Catholic Church wouldn't grant? So he started an new church with new rules. And now we're talking about gay Bishops.
hmmm. this all seems to fit.
My sister attends a liberal Episcopal church. My niece's baptism was one of the most appalling things I've ever seen at a church. The pastor repeatedly apologized for his faith in case it seemed intolerant. He then essentially said that baptism was a meaningless ritual, and called all beliefs (and non-belief) equal. My dad and I -- the only committed Christians in the room -- just sat there with ours jaws hung open. Very sad.
