Pull plug on ACLU

The American Civil Liberties Union, the misnamed, extremist persecutors of the Boy Scouts of America, claims to be fighting to end taxpayer support of religious groups.

That was the excuse the ACLU used when it targeted the Boy Scouts use of military bases in a case in which the Pentagon caved into the neo-Talibanists of secular humanism.

But the dirty little secret the ACLU doesn't want you to know is that it, too, received significant funding of its jihad against Judaism, Christianity and the monotheistic roots of Western Civilization from the federal, state and local governments.

And now that we know how easily government capitulates to the threat of lawsuits, it's time for someone to start suing over taxpayer support of this degenerate group of God-hating perverts.

It would be that easy to shut off a major funding source to the ACLU – your hard-earned tax dollars.

There are several ways Congress could do this very easily, with minor changes in the law. Since so many members of Congress – nearly all of them are on record in opposing the Defense Department's appeasement of the ACLU, maybe one of these brave souls should move to change the civil-rights statute that permits the ACLU from collecting attorney fees from governments the organization takes to court.

CourtZero.org, a website dedicated to stemming judicial activism, is petitioning Congress to change 42 U.S.C., Section 1988, of the United States Code that permits judges to award attorney fees to plaintiffs in civil-rights cases brought against local governments, thereby putting the taxpayers on the hook and oftentimes funneling public money to the ACLU. Simply changing the law so the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment would not apply could deprive the ACLU of millions of taxpayer dollars.

For instance, when the ACLU takes a city to court claiming a Christmas display violates the Establishment Clause, if the municipality loses, the city's taxpayers are often forced to pay ACLU attorneys. This law now creates an incentive for the ACLU to file ever more challenges of this kind. Do you want to know why the ACLU layers file these ridiculous lawsuits by the dozens? Because they get paid to do it – by you.

Another way to take the financial incentive out of these suits legislatively is by passing a law that cuts back the standing of the ability to bring Establishment Clause claims. Currently, anyone who is offended by what they see, a Ten Commandments display, a manger scene, a Christmas tree or a menorah, can bring suit.

Nowhere else in litigation is it so easy to make a claim. In most other areas of the law, you need to have a personal, direct injury.

The American Legion is calling on Congress to eliminate the financial incentives for the ACLU in Establishment Clause cases. It's about time we get behind this effort.

It's time to shut off the money supply to the ACLU. This is the first step to destroying the evil organization – putting a stake through its heart.

Why should the people of the United States, through their Congress, be giving away millions of dollars to the ACLU so that the twisted legal minds of that organization can subvert our laws and impose their agenda on the rest of us?

We can give this dangerously seditious group no quarter any longer. The ACLU can not be tolerated. It is a hate group that supports the North American Man-Boy Love Association, an organized band of pedophiles and child rapists, while attacking the Boy Scouts.

It's time to demand every member of Congress choose sides – the ACLU or the Boy Scouts.

Agree. Something has to be done; it is outrageous. Of coourse, what the Libs cannot accomplish by vote; they accomplish through organizations dedicated to their idiological 'principles'. . . and with 'Judicious help' as well.

I also wonder just 'who is the who' of the ACLU.

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist introduced legislation this month stipulating that no federal law, directive, rule, instruction or order should limit any federal agency from providing support to the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, including meetings held on federal property. "To this legislator, the ACLU's continued attacks on the Boy Scouts is starting to become its own form of persecution," said the Tennessee Republican, a former Scout, in a floor speech Nov. 20, news reports said.

A good beginning by Sen Frist, but more needs to be done. We, the people, should get behind a succession of legislative initiatives that would give Boy Scouts official federal status, perhaps have Scouts from different areas do a flag-ceremony before each session of Congress, and at Presidential events, like inaugurals, Chrisrmas tree-lighting ceremonies, and the like.

Scouting should receive perhaps federal Departmental-level status to give Scouts offical status as a paradigm American organization that advances US principles. President Bush might issue Executive Orders reagrding Scouting.

Once and for all we need to shield Scouts from persecution and from visceral haters like gays and the ACLU.

We need to all remember Newt Gingrich's very public campaign to "defund the left" back in 1995 -- not only the ACLU but the Legal Defense Fund and other organizations.

The media got their collective panties in a wad and found another reason to continue savaging Gingrich. Newt was at his most belligerent on this issue (even though he was right) yet with a Democratic President he was unable to get anywhere, and this issue in part resulted in the shutdown of the Government.

Defunding the left should be done a little more surreptitiously -- rather than lining out the funding, it should be slowly bled to death with budget reductions and slight clarifications in legal text. The media wolves are still out there and even with all three branches of Government in Republican hands the NYT and the Wash Post will smile gleefully for another reason to call the Republicans extremist.

If our courts had integrity, they wouldn't be able to get away with endlessly filing frivilous lawsuits, they'd have their licenses revoked.

Look at a list of organizations supported by the Combined Federal Campaign. ACLU, Planned Parenthood and others that fit right in with these organizations. Being a federal employee, where I work they'd like 100% participation. Well, I refuse to give to a campaign that sponsors organizations such as these. I give directly to organizations that are worthy and don't attack "values". I told those that ask why I don't give "That as long as they have organizations on the list that sponsor abortion, gay rights and attack religious freedom" then they don't get any money from me. I've been firm on this for over 20 years and won't budge on this. I just wish more people would see this CFC for what it really is and give directly give to organizations where the money will do good and not destroy.

I vaid this on another thread concerning the ACLU. If they are so in love with lawsuits, why not start hitting them with lawsuits? You know going in that some will be losers. Just keep hitting them with suits and eventualy, some will stick. The more money they have to spend on defending themselves, the less they would have to go after their pet targets, us. Drain their number one resource, money. Sue them into oblivion. We can pray that one day that would happen.

ACLU has come out in support of pedophiles. And they have been in a frenzy to attack anything to do with religion or a code of conduct. They even sued the National Honor Society which caved (possibly because it didn't have the resources to fight them) in requiring good character and leadership ability for its membership.

Get rid of the ACLU and the UN - if we acheive both goals we'll have gone a long way to rolling back more than 50 years of subversiveness in this country - two simple goals - huge benefits down the road!
