PCs and game boxes are already multiprocessor machines by the definition in this article: CPU, GPU, audio processor, net card processor, etc. The "Cell" will be underwhelming.

Dedicated hardware always screams compared to co-temporal multifunction machines. Always. A generation later, not, but during the same generation, dedicated hardware always wins.

No code is faster than microcode on silicon.
