Tripoli, Libya, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Muslim clerics and scholars meeting in Libya from around the world Tuesday denounced attempts to link Islam to terrorism as an injustice to one billion Muslims.

A final communiqué, issued at the end of a two-day conference in Tripoli organized by the International Islamic Daawa (Call) organization, called on participants to combat all actions that tarnish Islam and undermine its aspects of love and tolerance.

The conferees, some 500 clerics and scholars from 120 countries, condemned all aspects of injustice, enmity and the use of force such as invasions, sieges and wars in violation of international norms and principles, stressing that "developments in Palestine and Iraq are examples of injustice targeting Muslims."

They stressed the need to unify the Islamic stance and course of action throughout the world and determined to realize the message of Islam, which calls for peace and dialogue between peoples and civilizations.

"We call for a continuation of dialogue in order to show the true face of Islam and confront attempts to tarnish it," the communiqué said.

Winston Churchill said of the Muslims "They are either at your feet or at your throat"

There is a simple way for Muslims to unlink Islam and terrorism: stop being, harboring or supporting terrorists!

I never knew Winston Churchill said of Muslims. Well, some Muslim countries part of the British empire.

Excellent pictures!

The Quran is chock full of intolerance, violence, bigotry, suppression, coersion, murder, and death against transgressors, infidels, women, and foreigners.

Muslim men use the Quran as a means to shore up their egos - they know that their own ignorance has made muslims the most backwards, poor, and hopeless segment of the world's population. The Quran helps them blame it on everyone else.

I see no condemnation of the terrorists. Surely flying airplanes into buildings full of innocent people, some of them Muslims and booby trapping bodies are action that "tarnish Islam and undermine its aspects of love and tolerance"

Darn, I can't believe they left out all the parts where the Muslims were condemning terrorism and the terrorists...I couldn't find it anywhere.

Maybe that would have been a bit of a start in the right direction had the clerics been serious.

And now, to even suggest a link between Islam and terrorism
is defameing Islam, how convienient.

People need to wake up to what we face.

The appeasers, so afraid of making the "Totality" of Islam
mad at us, are totally blind to that fact that Islam IS
mad at us, and it's because we AREN'T MUSLIM!

"Muslim clerics and scholars meeting in Libya from around the world Tuesday denounced attempts to link Islam to terrorism"

I noticed that they didn't denounce terrorism.

If they want to denounce terrorism then they could start by reigning in the terrorists in their "religion" - which seems to include just about every terrorist in the world.

It says alot that the largest weapons caches in Iraq have been found in mosques. What exactly do they pray for? Obliteration of more civilians? With "religions" like that, who needs satanic death cults?

I can see we are gonna need a lot more bullets before this thing is over. When the muslim clerics start coming out against terrorism in a big way I will take their religion seriously, not until then.

Fascinating. Not a peep about how the actions of Islamofascists might be tarnishing the peaceful and benevolent image of Islam. I wonder if it even occurred to any of the conferees that they ought to mention/condemn the tarnishing effects of the Islamofascist terrorists?

Wonderful. Now let's see 'em kick the terrorists and terrorist sympathizers out of their mosques.

Oh wait...that's too much to ask? Then it's too much to ask me to believe this "religion of peace" bullcrap.
