The Bush and Kerry vote totals by state come directly from the Secretary of State websites or, where not available, from the Associated Press. Please note that AP has not updated their vote totals since 11/20/04. The AP Bush vote total now lags the actual national total by more than one million votes. Finally, it appears that the total national vote could approach 122 million which surpasses nearly all the pre-election predictions.

Pres. Bush Sen. Kerry

Bush's margin since Nov 3 has dropped from 3.05% over Kerry to 2.69%. It looks like my prediction that the margin will drop at the end to 2.6% looks about right. Hopefully, it will stay above 2.5%, so the rounding is up to a 3% margin, rather than down to a 2% margin.

Lots of people ignored Rather, Brokaw and Jennings and voted for Bush. The Big Media lost the election after promoting John Kerry all those months!

I was wondering what the national breakdown was of the Dems, Republicans, and Decline to State, etc. who actually voted this year. The figure I'm looking for is the statistical projection of Dems and independents who voted for the President. :-)

Something is seriously wrong with the numbers you posted. Either that, or some header info is missing. Examples:

AL 1,174,918 693,146

AK 188,943 109,765

Is the first number for Bush and the 2nd for Kerry?

Do you know when California and New York plan to certify their elections? [I don't want these states 'finding' any more votes for Kerry!]

Thanks for the update. Are you saying no one else has tallied the latest results but you? I would bet that this is the case, if so, this really is breaking news, Drudge should put up the latest results and maybe the old stream media would update their election results.

Thanks for posting the data-very interesting and lots of work to look all this up! One question
Your kerry numbers don't add up to the total you provided (100,000 vote difference) . I dropped them into a spreadsheet and get 58,378,074 for a total vs. your total 58,478,074. Is your total of 58,378,074 incorrect or is one of the states off by exactly 100,000? Thanks!
