Ditto, the history channel underestimates the intelligence and attention span of its viewers. Most people who are willing to watch a specialty channel is seeking something a little more meatier than what they can get on other channels. They need to steal Ken Burns away from public television. History International on satellite is good at times. The "Time Team" archaeology shows are quite interesting and entertaining.

They do that often on their Civil War shows. You'll see photos from Virginia when they are talking about Shiloh. lol
Reminds me of the Black Sheep Squadron TV series, where they had at tops 5 canned shots of planes being shot down that they used for the entire run of the series.

Huh? I thought the History Channel was the Military Channel...

I dunno. I really liked the 'Wings of the Red Star' with its detail of Soviet-era warplanes.
Although, I would agree that they need to make new episodes of Discovery Wings. You know, randomly open a copy of Jane's and pick a plane to do an episode on.

"History Channel"
They don't call it the "Hitler Channel" for nothing.

They don't call it the "Hitler Channel" for nothing. Oh come on. That's only for eleven months of the year. Let's not exaggerate. :-)

Of course, weekend prime-time is when History International becomes the "Military History Channel" If they would just show more than 5 of the "Sworn to Secrecy" episodes (and maybe get Heston to do a couple on Operation Enduring Freedom),....
Seriesly, I hope they keep "Wings of the Luftwaffe"; it's amazing what the Germans did in the aviation department in WWII.

"The History Channel is pretty much already the Military Channel."
My thoughts exactly.

Saw the ad for the Military Channel/Wings changeoever tonight and thought I'd chime in. It's still on track to changeover next month it appears.
Mail Call is one of the best shows the History Channel has ever put together. It would be hard for this new/old channel to beat shows like that, but we shall see.
I notice the Science channel has been getting in on more and more aviation/space related. I mean, it stands to reason they would be showing that type of stuff, but ever since Rutan decided to shake things up this fall, they seem to be showing a lot more space related shows...
