And you think I had fun in NYC....
On the previous thread, I requested that two tix be set aside for me. Circumstances have changed, and I won't be able to attend. Best wishes for an outstanding inaugural ball!
Just booked my tix. Can someone clarify for me if there is a meeting place at the parade and I thought I read last month that we needed to contact our state Repub HQ in advance for tickets to get into the parade for sercurity reasons?
This looks like its gonna be loads of fun.
If a FReeper needs a room, I have one available. I first got a room at the Howard Johnson Express at 600 New York Ave NE (at Florida) in DC for the nights of the 19th and 20th but then got a room at the Hawthorne Suite in Alexandria for the same nights. The rate is $124.43 for the two nights, plust taxes.
There must be a way to transfer the reservation. I've got a 24 hour prior cancellation on it and it's held with a CC.
I am gonna maintain the reservation until a day or two before the ball.
And don't forget to check out this thread to see the generosity of folks who call themselves Freepers. Many who cannot attend the ball themselves have been donating to a fund to sponsor some of our wounded military members attendance at the ball.
If you need more cash to cover please ask at the ball.
Okay so will there be any SWF's age 25 and below present? I can't dance with my mom all night!!!
Is that picture on the main page 'Gene Rayburn' from the 'Match Game'?
I will not be attending, because I will be headed back to the mideast. However, I was recently in the Washington, D.C. area. If hotels are too expensive or already booked, I would recommend staying in Landover Hills, Maryland, which has several hotels. On a map, it looks like it is a long drive from the city center, but it is actually a very short drive, due to the direct route. Simply take the Baltimore/Washington Parkway south and you will be in downtown DC in about 15 minutes. Probably not an expensive taxi ride, either, if you don't want to deal with the parking nightmare that is Washington DC. For those of you who stay in the city, plan on $25/day for parking. Whereas internet is free in hotels in Landover Hills, plan on paying another $10/day for that service in the city.
Okay, I am mailing in my check today. Is it going to the regular adress in Fresno, or should it go to Kristinn in DC? and the check is made out to FR? Let me know ASAP, thanks!
already bought my ticket bump!
I wanted to go but my mom, Hillary, said that FReepers are incorrigible so she won't let me go, darn it....she also murmured something about a right wing conspiracy.....
We were there 4 years ago and it was great!!
There was a table set up downstairs for the kids
and I met a fellow "Freeper Mom" there with her twins...
I wondered if she plans on being there and will she
be in charge of the "kid's room"?
Any special rates for senior citizens?? My 71 year old mom
(a radical Republican!!:-)) would love to come too !!
Thanks,
DeAnne (in the part of Maine that almost went red!!!)
Bump
Bump.
Only three weeks...
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Would it be possible to get a webcam set up for those of us who cannot attend the Ball? I would love to watch the goings on and hear the speeches if there are any.
For those who can go, Bobj just posted this:
