Skip to comments.Special Ticket Discount and General Funds for the Free Republic W2 Inaugural Ball
Posted on 12/07/2004 3:40:57 PM PST by Jim Robinson
I've received several inquiries regarding a special ball ticket discount fund for people who may wish to donate to help someone else attend the ball who might not otherwise be able to attend. If you would like to make a donation that will help someone else attend the ball, please use our regular secure server donation (https://secure.freerepublic.com/donate/) page. If you have someone special in mind, please indicate in the comments area of the donation page the screen name of the person you wish to receive a discounted ticket and we will alert that person via FReepmail. If the person declines or otherwise cannot attend the ball we will notify you and allow you to designate a second person and or we can make it available to someone else. Also, please let us know if you wish your screen name to be disclosed as the donor, otherwise it will remain anonymous.
We also have a general ball fund. This fund will be used to help offset additional ball costs such as complimentary tickets and possibly travel and lodging for band members and other invited guests who may require it, and or to offset other ball overhead expenses. If you would like to donate to this fund, please do so on our secure server donation page and indicate "General Ball Fund" in the comments field.
Thank you all very much!
Hope to see you at the Ball!!
Thanks for the info Jim.
Just received the following via FReepmail:

A check is already on it's way.
I'm hopeing Kristenn can find a soldier at Walter Reid or wherever, that is recovering from a wound that is able to attend.
That is my wish, but however you two see fit to spend the money is fine by me.
Thank you very much!
Thank you, indeed. That's very kind.
You guys are amazing, truly amazing. What a wonderful thing to do.
While I can't be there, I know that there will be there that night someone for whom the evening will be especially unforgettable for this beautiful idea.
Have to pass on The Ball, Jim. My Reserve Unit is doing an exercise starting on Jan.20th. Through Sunday, the 23rd.
I won't be able to attend this time, but I'll be glad to help the effort by donating $100 to be used as the planners see fit.
It would be more, but I've already made too many commitments this season.
Good luck to the planners, and to all those who attend, have a great time.
Thank you Jim.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
you are inviting cigar guy & belly girl right? well, esp Cigar Guy!!!!
Sent a little today. Y'all have a ball. I mean a real one. heh.
Contact American Red Cross or Family Services at Walter Reed is my suggestion. I know that Recreation Services sent wounded to the Army Navy Game last year.
Ok. Good luck with the exercise.
Ok, thanks very much. We'll miss you.
Thank you, Eastbound!
We'all will definitely be there. We're bringing 11 adults and 2 children to the ball from our neck of the woods!
It's going to be so much fun!
My pleasure, JimRob. BTTT!

Woo hoo!! Way to go NC!!
Wonderful! It'll be nice to see you again... Hopefully we'll be able to find you and your family in the FReeper crowd! Will you be attending CPAC 2005? We'll be there too.

Bump, good idea!
Woo hoo! Just heard back from Kristinn. He's talking to the people at Walter Reed. Sounds like we may be able to invite some of the recovering soldiers to the ball. Will know more later.
Great news...that would be an honor to be in their presence and to thank them personally!!
That's great Jim. Glad to hear it.
Oh, this is wonderful! This is just getting better and better.
That's fantastic news. Meeting them will be a highlight of the evening.
This ball is going to be the best of all the inaugural balls.
That's GREAT news!
That's good news, indeed. I just wish we could invite them all.
Looking forward to meeting them.
Hope this works out--it would be a huge thrill to meet some of these heroes!
Outstanding! We have a baby and can't be there, but I'll send a donation tomorrow for the special guests!
Thank you Tax-chick!!
Wow, that's wonderful! "Zelig" and I will send a donation momentarily to help sponsor these or any special FR W2 Inaugural Ball guests.
I can't make it ... but I hope my donation can help to have our brave soldiers to attend
JimRob, Kristinn --
Truly an awesome idea, Jim. Bless your heart for thinking of our wounded heroes.
Kristinn, if you have any problem at Walter Reed, let me know -- I have some good friends in the right places who have been working with some of those wonderful soldiers at Walter Reed for quite some time. You know how to reach me if you need to.....;)
Thank you, nutmeg!!

Does any of your guests needs something to wear? I won't be needing my Knights of Columbus formal! TaxDeduction1 would look stunning in it (along with my coat :-).
