What's amazing is after two decades most people don't have the muscles to physically walk nor the memory in their nervous system to know how to walk. There's got to be more to this story.

There have been some therapies employed for many years, which use electrical stimulation to cause paralyzed people's muscles to contract as if they were being directed normally. This results in maintaining a significant amount of muscle tone/strength. This woman must have been undergoing that type of therapy as well.
