This time the media neglected to name the year. For past elections we’ve had “The Year of the Woman,” “The Year of the Soccer Mom,” and, famously, “The Year of the Angry White Male.” That was 1994, also known as The Year of the Voters’ “Tantrum,” in Peter Jennings’ famous put-down, after the Republican “takeover” of Congress. But this year, nada.
So, given the behavior of high profile liberals this election season, I’ll dub it, “The Year of the Angry White Lib Male.” Folks, this is hate-crime territory. With foaming-at-the-mouth, venomous rhetoric designed to eviscerate President Bush (scorned as an idiotic fascist “chimp” liar) an attack Kerry critics, liberals have come unglued. Take Lawrence O’Donnell, MSNBC senior political analyst, who totally lost it on the air on October 22 when he appeared with John O’Neill, co-author of Unfit for Command. Here’s just a portion:
“That’s a lie, John O’Neill! Keep lying, it’s all you do!...Lies!...That’s a lie! It’s another lie! That’s a lie! Absolute lie! You lie in that book endlessly!...You lie about documents endlessly!...You’re just lying about it!...[Y]ou…lying writer…in your pack of lies!...Disgusting, lying book!...It’s a pack of lies!...He just lied to you! He spews out this filth! Point to his name on the report, you liar! Point to his name, you liar!...You just spew lies!...I just hate the lies of John O’Neill. I hate lies. It’s not an argument; they’re proven lies…O’Neill’s a liar, he’s been a liar for 35 years about this, and he’s found other liars…They lied!...Lies!...[Y]ou are a liar who makes things up!...You want the lies! That’s how you make your living, on lies!”
And so on. Ponder some of the invectives of Michael Moore: “I would like to apologize for referring to George W. Bush as a ‘deserter.’ What I meant to say is that George W. Bush is a deserter, an election thief, a drunk driver, a WMD liar, and a functional illiterate. And he poops his pants.” More Moore: “I want Bush paraded in handcuffs outside of a police house as a common criminal…”
Then there’s Kerry spokesman Joe Lockhart: “[Bush is] unhinged from reality.” And don’t forget Bruce Springsteen: “[The Bush Administration] frightened and manipulated the American people into war.” Springsteen’s Bush-bashing, “Vote for Change” tour was followed with glee by the Arab network Al-Jazeera. A clearly wigged-out Dan Rather was willing to torpedo his 40-year career in an attempt to destroy George W. Bush with faked documents on “60 Minutes.”
Which brings us to Kerry and Edwards—the two Johns. Edwards declared: “I say if you live in the United States of America and you vote for George Bush, you’ve lost your mind.” As President Bush’s poll numbers rose despite hammering by the media, writes Evan Thomas in Newsweek, Kerry was stunned: “He said with a sight to one top staffer, ‘I can’t believe I’m losing to this idiot.’”
But all the rage didn’t get them the one prize they were so desperate to win: political power. The angry lib males lost. Because, ultimately, the voters saw them for what they are: weak and unstable. In other words, girlie-men.

Why limit it just to White Lib Males? Just say it is the Year of the Angry Unhinged Lib--of any race and gender?

Yeah. This was definitely the Angry White Lib Year. Heck, this could've included all people's. Everyone was involved in conservative bashing. In that respect, everyone was equal in the liberal's eyes.
Yep. McAuliffe too.
Perfect! When I saw the headline I first thought it should be corrected by ...."girly man" instead of "male". and that is porecisely where Rush took it, so beautifully.

That is a stupid anaology. Everyone knows the Hulk would crush SpiderMan.
Now if it was Daredevil vs. Spiderman, then you could have a real thoughtful arguement!!
Spiderman would chant kharmic humming at Hulk and cause him to de-Hulk. And then he'd train Bruce Banner in yoga and relaxation techniques so he'd never Hulk up again.
I don't know about any of you, but I am missing my Rush fix these past two days!
