What a horrible experience and so sad to see your pets killed that way.

I bought a Yorky puppy last year. A neighbor came by and said he has a pit bull and how friendly it is.

I flat out told him that his pit bull would NOT be friendly to my Yorky and he needed to keep it fenced. Thankfully I have not seen it run loose in the neighborhood.

Thank you for the sentiments.

Some pets are like family members after so many years.

I have lots of good memories about them. Sugar, the Collie 'taught' my son to swim when the tyke was three. Sugar would allow him to hang on to her fur as she swam, toting him back and forth across the two acre farm pond. Circling my son at all times, keeping the eye out.

Or, the time Sugar kept the local volunteer fire truck from commencing into the yard - sirens blaring - while we were toasting hot dogs and marshmallows at a small backyard get together. The firefighters ate free that evening. And Sugar and my boy toured the truck and handled the tools.

She was a great dog.

Keep an eye on yours, potlatch.
