SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- Punching, swearing and throwing children across the room, details in a new report that lists the horrific allegations of abuse by Seminole County teacher Kathy Garrett.

The report, released Friday, morning is revealing new details the school board has known about for years regarding a teacher accused of abusing her autistic students. Garrett resigned from her job at South Seminole Middle School two weeks ago and currently faces nine counts of aggravated child abuse.

Working with autistic children is a thankless, tiresome, extremely stressful job. I've hit my steering wheel out of frustration because traffic moved slowly. I can't imagine the reactions I'd have to that level of stress.

Please, don't flame me. I'm not excusing her actions... taking out your frustration on a child, especially an autistic child is simply inexcusable. If guilty, this woman should be put in jail and I'll be there to watch them melt the key. I just hope fellow FReepers will rush to judge this woman's actions but still hold on to compassion for the woman. She needs our prayers, too.

Sorry, no compassion for this monster. She preyed on autistic children, probably, because many have impaired language skills and couldn't tell people what was going on. Any sign of agitation or upset would be blamed on their autism.

Literally a monster. I know people look bad in mug shots, but holy smokes! And how could they let this go on? Nobody called a parent? Nobody called the cops? And the parents, what about them, none of them had any idea this was going on? I understand the children are mentally disabled, but was she really throwing kids across the room and not leaving any marks on them?

This Florida teachers' union seems to be amoung the worst, if not the worst in the nation.
