As an Irish Catholic who hates ND

My, what strong feelings we have. Just wondering what your opinion is of serial killers, mass murderers and abortionists? Or is there possibly a rejection letter from Notre Dame somewhere in our past?

Notre Dame, think of it what you may, strives for excellence. Not always successful, clearly, but the attention given this mistake (the hiring of Willingham) probably speaks to its uniqueness.

I'm a Catholic and the only Catholic college I detest is Georgetown. That that school calls itself "Catholic" is a joke. My sister went to G'town and her freshman year roommate arrived from Choate, not knowing it was a Catholic school until she got there and caught a glimpse of a priest crossing campus. Sure, this girl must have been a dope, but there must be a reason someone bright enought to graduate from Choate and get into G'town didn't know it was a Catholic school...

I never bothered applying to the place, so, no, there's no rejection letter. What I dislike most about ND and their alums is their arrogance. I've actually talked to ND alums who've asked me if I didn't really wish I'd gone to ND instead of my alma mater. Unreal. That kind of arrogance isn't a particularly Christian characteristic.
