After his appearance on Russert, no one would seriously believe Reid is "mild-mannered."
It seems to me Reid succeeded exactly as planned. Out of one Liberal's back yard into an even more Liberal bastion in Seattle. Net result: Maloney out of Reid's hair.
Of course he doesn't...BECAUSE HE'S A LOSER!
Tyrell's deconstruction of this dope was one of the most accurate post-election assessments that I've read thus far.
Reid is basically a guy who would be too stupid to be entrusted with the solemn responsibility of closing up a Denny's.
By some strange quirk of fate-and your customary Dem. vote fraud-he managed to squeeze past the electorate and seize a U.S. Senate.
Six years from now, we'll have finished the job that was started in '98. and this guy will be going back to picking his nose in his split-level apt. in Reno.

I hope you are right..
Absolutely. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing and *knows* how to get away with repulsive and slanderous racist comments of a conservative black. That moment on Meet the Depressed was a trial balloon. He passed relatively unscathed thanks to the gutless GOP and the MSM. He wasn't held to the same standard as Lott.

If Ensign hadn't been cheated out of his election the last time that Reid was up, back in '98, we would now have two GOP senators from the great state of Nevada.
Meaning...
I don't doubt the writer's experience and assessment - but I think he misses the big picture - and the big picture is that now Reid's on the national stage - and I dare the little frikk to try to pull that small-town BossHawg act on Limbaugh and Hannity, for starters. When Clinton ran Arkansas - he ran it like his own little nazi state. Don't work on the national venue, and I'm glad to see this particular small-town despot getting the heat for his idiotic statements on national TV. He's facing some big guns now.
Understand, thanks. I thought it may have been a nervous tick or something.
His supposedly "mild-mannered" replacement, Nevada Sen. Harry Reid, could become a bigger headache for Republicans and conservatives than Daschle ever was.
Does this guy seriously think the reason for getting rid of Dasshole was that he would be replaced with a mild-mannered minority leader? If so, would we have wanted to him to stay if the RATS told us they'd replace him with Hitlery Rotten Klintoon, or that he would not seek to remain minority leader if re-elected?
You get rid of these vermin because they're vermin. Period. You work hard to replace the vermin with someone good like Thune replacing Dasshole in that seat, but you don't play realpolitik games of keeping the vermin know because you're worried about the vermin you don't know. That's how we're plagued with the Senate RINO Club of Snowe, Collins, McCain, Chaffee, and, of course, the Senator from Scotland.
Reid also has to know that Dashcle was not re-elected due in large part to his conduct as Senate Marjority leader-obstructionist. Reid comes from a red state; he better be careful. He can't count on the mainstream media to hide his actions-not in the modern era of blogs and talk radio.
I despise Reid's comments about Thomas, he said he thought this fine justice was an embarrassement (a matter of opinion embarrassing to Mr. Reid and his Party if you ask me), but his comments were not as damaging as Lott's comments. Also, the GOP got rid of Lott- standard practice for the GOP. Democrats stand by their man through thick and thin (not to mention blue dresses with icky stains) Republicans don't. Personally, I think Republicans have more integrity than Democrats-one of the many reasons I am a former Democrat and a Republican today.
