Who's traducing? I do plead guilty to enjoying the irony.

I see this as a direct result of the Giulliani administration's policy of not being interested in a person's immigration status when they ran afoul of the law.

Yes, it is against the law...a law which is ignored by all the elite. They holler 'racist' at anyone who says they should enforce the law.
I don't care anymore what they call me. I know I'm not, and anyone that calls us that word knows we're not, also.

"Why does anyone need a nanny".
What does Mrs. Kerick do all day? And, while I don't know Mr. Kerick's age, he doesn't look like he would have children who would need a nanny. On the other hand, my father was 50 when I was born. I do think Mr. Kerick would have done a fine job - he's a fighter and no "empty suit".

This is bs. I can't imagine a better qualified person for homeland security.
To: wagglebee
would be Senator Joseph I. Lieberman,... or Asa Hutchinson,... Frances Fragos Townsend, ... Joe Allbaugh, the former director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency,... and Michael O. Leavitt, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.Crikees! Can't we do better than that? How about Tancredo?

65 posts and not one comment on this?
"Senator Susan Collins, a Maine Republican and the chairwoman of the Government Affairs Committee, said that among the possible candidates to succeed Mr. Kerik, at least in her mind, would be Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, Democrat of Connecticut, or Asa Hutchinson, the assistant secretary at homeland security."

Good...The only problem is, hellary isn't a human being...she's almost said it in this statement...I believe she thinks human beings are beneath her...(whew!...there's an ugly image...).

I think that there will probably be a big push to get Lieberman into this post. The basic argument being that he has been firmly behind Bush in the war on terror and his views on domestic political issues are irrelevant in this area. Plus they will make the argument that putting Lieberman in the Cabinet will get another Democrat out of the Senate and Connecticut's Republican governor would appoint a Republican to his seat.

I didn't need a nanny, but my children had a nanny.
She took care of the children so I could actually go to the supermarket alone. She watched the children on some occasions so I could leave the house for a meeting or a lunch date.
She helped with the housework. Did laundry.

I did not have a 'career' other than being a full time mother.
We could afford to have live in help.
Is this something of which I should be ashamed?

I do think Mr. Kerick would have done a fine job - he's a fighter and no "empty suit"He would have been great.
He's real, and real people have warts.
I think Bush should have rammed him down the Democrats' throats, so they could get in some practice being slapped and liking it.
