I see a lot of positive potential in this development: first, it is not stated when the text alteration took place (hopefully, very early, so the whole islamic history and theology are compromised); second, it leaves open the possibility of multiple episodes of omissions and alterations. Thus, every existing Koran is corrupted and ought to be discarded immediately. A little war of religion to settle the dispute about whose text is the least corrupt is in order.
