I just don't understand why the hell Kerik didn't tell them about this in the beginning, it's almost as if he wanted to embarass Bush.

Kerik should be ashamed of himself and I don't have much confidence in our "intelligence" if something like this wasn't discovered.

Hell, all they need to do is ask:
Have you ever employed someone and not filed the required IRS forms? And have you verified they are legally allowed to work in the United States?
It's not that difficult, they should just ask for a list of everyone they've ever employed to work in their homes.

That's what I say too - we need intelligence reform and quick.

That's my point---apparently they didn't ask.

Scott McClellan, President Bush's press secretary, called it "a very thorough vetting process"
Well, not to slam the Administration, but that's clearly not true.
I bet there's been some fur flying internally.

Rudy pushed him for the job.
Why did he do it?
Does Kerik have something on him, or does Rudy have an axe to grind against W?
This stinks to high heaven.

Because they didn't want to know?
Don't ask, don't tell.

They did ask. That has been reported since Friday.
To: Mears
---apparently they didn't ask. They did ask.
To: mabelkitty
Maybe it's the not so subtle spin the media has devised for the stories.
Ever heard the term "mountain out of a molehill"? It is possible that is what is happening.
To: mabelkitty
They asked. I was out most of yesterday and still managed to hear and read that reported several times in various venues.
To: mabelkitty
Oh please, Rudy has no axe to grind and this hurts him personally and professionally. It was Kerik's responsibility to disclose and frankly, alot of this should have been found out within 15 minutes of his name being bandied around. Makes you really wonder about our intelligence.

The mere fact that hillary and chucky endorsed him is damning.

The biggest loser in all this is Rudy Giuliani, who pulled a favor to get Kerik nominated in the first place. My prediction is that Giuliani's future in the national GOP is now non-existent.

If you think the Bush administration fell down on this one, consider this . . . many of the stories that are lurking out there about Kerik date back to the period before he was even named by Giuliani as the
commissioner of the New York City police department. That just about says it all about these Northeastern "blue" states, doesn't it?

You think that Kerik wanted to embarrass GWB? I think that GWB did not have a complete understanding of his politics and beleifs as Bo Dietl has offered, that is, an understanding that illegal immigration is our biggest problem. GWB does not want to go there. Rudy may also agree with Bo and Kerik. If that is the case, the next four years will be difficult for GWB, not to mention, the security and sovereignty of our nation.
To: HarryCaul
You must confuse this administration with the Clinton Administration. I read a day or two ago that the White House asked Kerick 3 times to confirm that there were no problems with this and they said that he firmly said NO! I think it is true!
