Superintendent's Wife Convicted Of Giving Pot To Minors

LA VETA, Colo. -- The wife of the superintendent of schools faces up to 18 years in prison when she is sentenced next week for supplying alcohol and marijuana to minors.

Laurie Graybeal, 41, faces two to six years in prison on each of three felony counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

At a recent school board meeting in this mountain town southwest of Walsenburg, several parents called for the dismissal of Superintendent Wayne Graybeal. He testified at his wife's trial that he questioned the character of the teens who allegedly shared drugs or drank with her.

School board President Debbie Channel on Thursday said the board could find no wrongdoing on Wayne Graybeal's part, based on Town Marshal Harold Willborn's investigation of the child abuse allegations.

"There are no grounds for dismissal for Dr. Graybeal at this point," she said.

Although a K-12 system apparently, this action gives new meaning to the term "Higher Education"

They corrupted his wife just as it was that crazy Monica Lewinsky who led Bill Clinton on.

Of course not.

The good doctor, being completely preoccupied with supervising the school, and evidently unaware of his wife's indiscretions in his own home, sees fit to blame the children for having a lack of character.

I'm surprised he wasn't found hanging in the cellar.

Superintendent Wayne Graybeal questions (blames) the character of the high school students = must be a Democrat. They always blame others for their behavior. They are NEVER introspective. It must be someone else's fault - even the minors.

School Board President finds Wayne did nothing wrong? The overall atmosphere at the school is Wayne's responsibility. If his wife was corrupting the students, Wayne is responsible under the 'should have known' clause for persons in position of authority.

Dump Wayne and the School Board President. They're both idiots.

Knowing the way kids like to brag to their friends I'm surprised that Dr. Graybeal didn't have an inkling what was going on at home. If nothing else the booze bills should have gotten him to thinking that maybe his wife had a drinking problem and for him to start asking questions. Hard to believe he got as far as he did for him to be so blind as he was.
