Sen. Clinton against illegal immigration [By primary-time, she'll belong to the NRA]
(UPI) ^ | Dec. 13, 2004 | wire

Posted on 12/13/2004 9:38:09 AM PST by johnny7

Washington, DC, -- Sen. Hillary Clinton's hard-line against illegal immigration is seen by some as the Democrat's attempt to solidify support for a 2008 presidential bid.

Clinton, D-N.Y., who has received the liberal moniker for her efforts as first lady in the 1990s, may be trying to win support in conservative states by coming out against illegal immigration, the Washington Times reported Monday. In fact, the paper reported, Clinton's stance is more conservative than President Bush's, calling for an entry and exit ID system for immigrants.

When she ran for Senate, Giuliani said we'd soon learn that Hillary had played for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

This is another nail in the Dem's coffin.

She knows she has to make a hard right turn in order to have a shot in 2008. The question is will she go too far and open the way for a Howard Dean type to challenge her for the Dem nomination?

Umm, don't we already have that? Don't foreigners have to have proper documentation in order to enter and exit the country?

Good! Illegal immigration is the nu 1 problem facing this country. If she can convince me she is sincere, she could get my vote. I never would of thought that possible before today. Better yet if she forces the GOP to take the position of the average person in this country and pass effective legislation before election year next.

Hillary will probably try to get Chelsea to join the Naval Reverves or Coast Guard. Look for photos of Hillary firing pistols (American big bores like the M1911 and Para-Ordnance P14-45). This woman is capable of even shiftier political moves than Kerry.

I don't think there is anyone in the Deomcrats party that can deny Hiliary the nomination. And the fact that she is gong to run as an "Iron Lady", (strong on defense, strong on borders and finscally responsible) should scare the hell out of the open borders, borrow and spend globalist GOP.

Wow, you're the man.

Say, she does take this hard line regarding illegal immigration -- if the economy is strong, people are working and things are pretty much as they are or better, will it be enough of an issue to resonate?

Also, they have brainwashed their hardcore left base into believing all this diversity open borders BS, it could back fire by alienating a huge chunk of those voters.

Ofcourse, she has calculated all these points and must think it is a viable tactic.

Nice post. You'll no doubt be flamed out of existence for stating such an opinion, but I give you credit.

She's pandering and setting herself up for her 2008 run. Frankly though, I don't care why she's doing it. Someone has to bring this to the forefront and if it's Hillery of all people.......well like I said, this has to be brought into the public debate somehow.

I can't imagine ever voting for the woman though, but hopefully conservative voices in the GOP will rise up and take the challenge and make it a serious campaign pledge.

One can only hope.

That should read, "as Evangelical a way as feasible..." I truly believe that Martians have landed here and have been feasting on Hillary's gray matter. Her White House motives, while transparent, are still quite bizarre. A total Dem implosion over the next four years would be quite welcome.

Well, as I pointed out in my article, she has less to lose than previously, but some unknown quantity to gain.

The Latino vote is quickly becoming a wash for the Democrats, so they need to go elsewhere to find some votes. They will use the immigration issue as a means of peeling off some conservative Bush-supporting Democrats and some single-issue Republicans from the GOP, especially in light red states.

They will also use this as a labor and environmental issue.

She`s against illegals but when she was running for Satan-or of New York she had no problem putting the people of New York in grave danger by getting her husband to pardon 17 FALN members who bombed NYC and Chicago 130 times so she could buy votes (hey, after all it was only 130 times). This woman is a bonafide sociopath and should not be near ANYTHING that has to do with making decisions for other people, much less in a political office of all things! And if anyone believes that she is for tightening our borders to stop terror, you are truly insane or you do not know the Hitlery at all. This psycopath will say, or much more important, DO anything to get power. She cares just as much about what tea to drink as she does about someone who gets killed. She is a SOCIOPATH! She is MENTALLY ILL!

Yea, a few of us saw this comming. The Rats are going to rid themselves of the crazy liberals and go back to being an America First, pro-working class, pro-middle class party. Moving to the right of the GOP in many inportant issues. The GOP is making a huge mistake by drifting left on issue after issue and bankrupting the country with it's out of control spending.

Many here have been ringing the alarm bell as loud as we can, but the kool-aid drinkers just will not listen. Kerry should have been crushed in this last election. It should have been a landslide against Kerry, the most liberal out of touch candidate ever. The GOP is in serious trouble, it was the Contract with America and the memory of Reagan that swept the GOP into power, but todays GOP looks NOTHING like the CWA GOP.

FYI.. this will cause a problem for Hillary.. Leave her house in Chappaqua, dive 2 miles north on Rte 117, make a left at the traffic light onto Lexington Ave, dive a mile..you're in the center of the Village of Mt Kisco. It used to be the shopping hub of northern Westchester, before we got "malled"..it has about 8000 resident..estimated now that maybe 50% are illegal immigrants..You can't wanlk around town without runnign into lareg groups of men..hanging about..trying to find work.. there are 4-5 pick-up stops around the village. Severl of the older homes have been turned into illegal rooming houses..there may be 100's living in Each one. we've had a few murders, lots of increased crime..a few sexual attacks..and many quality of life issues..You now the pics from Lon Island. where they also have big problems..imagine the same thing compressed into a ONE square mile area, and you have an idea. The climate here is too PC to do/say anything..but it's changing..

But if you're illegal then you wouldn't be part of this "exit/entry ID system" or whatever she's talking about, so her proposal wouldn't change anything.

Agreed. It is sad to say but all she has to do is stay this course, do some "worshipping in church" photo ops, and go on a Fall duck hunt right before the election and she'll be in the White House again.

it is a risk, but she is better off without the crazy left if she can pick up conservative/moderate support. Much better off. In this last election conservatives/moderates really had no choice but to vote for the very liberal Bush, since Kerry was far worst, but that will not be the case in 2008 when the democrats try to retake the middle by moving hard right. Too soon to tell if the Rats move to the right will work, but it might and it's something the democracts must do if they ever want to govern the country again.

I figured a conservative thrid party would arise to claim the right as the GOP rifts left, but the Rats moving right is a very smart move. It will be fun to watch.

She is against illegal immigration, unless the illegal
immigrant is rich and able to contribute to her campaign
coffers. . and you're right. Hillary will be an NRA
member riding in her pickup down in her new "home state" of
Arkansas with her gun on the rack and a coon hound sitting
between her on the driver's side and the prospective First
Lady, Bill, on the passenger's side before 2008.

She is anything you want her to be, all things to all
people, just like Bill was - and no one knew about the
dagger until it stuck them in the back, too late.

The solution to the problem is to punish employers that hire illegals, but you can not punish them if you do not give them the means to determine who is legal and who is not. Slove that problem and enforce the law and you have solved the illegal immigration problem. No need to have troops on the border, leave it mostly open. Go after employers and the illegals will go home on their own.

We don't want more lies Hillary, we want action. Get up in the Senate and pitch a fit. Let the illegals know exactly where you stand - on the side that will give you the most votes. So if there are more Mexicans voting in 2008 than conservatives I'm sure you'll discover that you have a Mexican illegal in your family tree somewhere - she married that Jewish uncle you had, remember?

You deserve to take a victory lap on that one. People in their hatred of the Clintons fail to acknowledge just how good at politics they are.

I believe we'll also see Hillary begin to actively campaign against gay marriage. This, as we learned, was precisely what Mr. Clinton advised Kerry to do.
