WRONG! How do you solve the problem if you do not focus on it. All of the peripheral is more than enough to make these seminars outlast people's attention spans.
Obviously there are SOME crimes...including murder, and some serial muderers...associated with people who call themselves Satanists. In the grand scheme of things there really aren't that many of these.
The thesis of the Satan Scare types though is that there are widespread Satanic Cults comprised of large numbers of people out in the woods eating babies and such, that there are thousands of unreported murders by them and it's covered up, etc.
Which is obviously BS.
By the way, I was not calling satanists pedophiles. I was using an analogy.
BINGO!
"... and remember, kids: always, always CELEBRATE DIVERSITY!" < /sarcasm>
Which is obviously BS."
That's right, didn't a Satanist Cult kill Laci Peterson?
/sarcasm
hey hoho!
But while you are thinking about, try a google for "satanism" and "pedophilia."
I think you will find there is quite a connection. Some investigators think there is a strong connection between pedophilia in the Catholic Church (and other churches) and "satanic ritual abuse"
Just a mistake...
Just a mistake?
The guy is still on the job. There's the friggen mistake.
You did not just bring the Catholic church into this!? I was simply making a distinctly different analogy. Pedophilia is evil as is satan. There is your connection.
"I think you will find there is quite a connection. Some investigators think there is a strong connection between pedophilia in the Catholic Church (and other churches) and "satanic ritual abuse"
I think you meant "Some wackos," not "some investigators." There just isn't a satanic presence to speak of in this country. It's all paranoia.
BTW, I am not Catholic but love the Church and have many family who are devout...not my intention to offend Catholics...
My point actually was that "satanic ritual abuse" usually involves children and much of what passes as child abuse in religious settings is thought by some investigators not to be simply random acts of abuse but instead part of a larger pattern of ritual abuse.
The funny thing about it is I think a lot of the Satanism hysteria is about titillation.
That is, the guy who wrote the "Satanic Sex Calendar" was someone considered himself a "noble crusader" against Satanism in making the calendar and handing it out at their seminars for Law Enforcement on the evils of Satanism, and thus was able to feel self-righteous, but he probably also sort of got off on thinking about all these Satanists having orgies in the woods as he imagines. It's mental porn without the guilt.
So did they roast him over a fire or stew him in a large pot?

Some investigators are paranoid whackos. So, here's the deal: You find a single case of "satanic ritual abuse" that has resulted in a conviction in court in the USA. Post a link to the information. If you can do that, I will be amazed beyond belief. Just one case, where there was a conviction. Please.
I am sorry, but this guy was extremely negligent.
I really don't give a crap why the calendar ended up in the mix.
He needs to be fired now.
Actually there's FR thread on it...happened in Gilmer, Texas.

You seem to believe there are no satanists, or those that are out there are having afternoon tea and lovely conversations...
I will grant you that some extremists have gone to far in making everything satanic, but you act like nobody bad exists.
