She musta read Sharpton's book. But she should have paid closer attention. She should have denied everything called it all a conspiracy against women or something. And the more the facts come out, the more she screams about the conspiracy. The book offers and speaking offers would just roll in. She'd be set for life. What a wasted opportunity.

She should lose tenure and be fired.

Thanks for posting this. I'm glad she didn't get a bye on this dastardly deed.

I wish this woman well in prison. I hope nothing untoward happens to her. I think it will be enough that she will have to live with the ignominy of her treachery for the rest of her life. It's up to us to make sure that no-one ever forgets the sort of person she is.

One year suspended sentence, correct?

All she has to do to stay out of jail is to not fake another hate crime for a the remainder of the probationary period?

Unfortunately, it looks like the only reason she's getting any jail time is for insurance fraud. If she'd paid to have her car repainted herself instead of filing a claim with her insurance company, she'd probably still be "teaching" today and be a hero martyr of the academic left.

A fake hate crime is itself the worst form of hate crime.

However, 1 year in prison is the harshest punishment possible for a crime which targets conservatives.

"and two felony counts of attempted insurance fraud."

I guess she figured she may as well cash in on her actions.
What a piece of human debris.

Maybe Dan Rather can do an investigative report on how Dunn's staged "hate" crime and insurance fraud were "fake but accurate." Then Joe Ellis can follow with a guest spot lecture on how she just "misspoke" with that spray can and ex-professor bellesiles can announce that he finally found her lost credibility on the floor of his "flooded" office. Who knows? Maybe bubba himself will publicly state that whether she is guilty depends on the meaning of "is."

In my opinion, most hate crimes in this country are done by those who are the "victims." We had a black woman in Laurel, MD ransack her own home a few years ago and spray paint things like "KKK" and the N-word and some other stuff. The community rallied behind her (black and white) and gave her money, food, and other charitable donations. It was later discovered that she did the whole thing herself. We had another incident her in Maryland of someone pouring gasoline on a lawn spelling out a racist word. I suspect that this incident may well have been self-perpetrated. It's really sad, but people prey on the good will of others.
