I am confused.
I am sure that the Supreme Court in the last 40 years had ruled unequivocally that
eminent domain applied exclusively to enable facilities and improvements of a clearly public nature
that would remain public forever: e.g. roads, water supply, public buildings and facilities etc.
Shopping centers, office complexes and abortion clinics do not qualify by any stretch of logic or justice. Nor do any "revenue producing" out-of-left-field logic.

Yes, something changed. Good Americans, the ones who believe that politicians are public servants charged to protect the rights of individuals, stopped running for office, they allowed the schools to drop teaching about the founding fathers, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. After that, the American people started electing communists to office who don't believe in property rights, individual rights, and the concept that America should stay a country of free people.

Did something change while I wasn't looking? It depends on how long you have looked away. In the last 54 years, everything has changed.
The country that many who looked away still describe as free, is anything but.

Nope what you are referring to was a State Supreme Court not the Federal. While the ruling could be looked at by another court as precedence it is not bound by it. If this commission pushes the issue through this poor lady could be royally screwed. Thank goodness Neal has picked it up. That is probably her only chance.
