There are 14 of these scum in my zip code, and 3 with-in 1 block of my house. I am now scared to death to let my children out of the house.

I perfectly well understand. My girls are never out in the front yard unless Dad or I am with them. They are only in the backyard alone when I can watch them (i.e. doing laundry on our lowest level, preparing dinner to grill).
My husband thinks I'm nuts, but I have one chance with my kids. I told him that if he wants them to run the streets he better be prepared to go with them or buy a German Shepard to go in his stead.
I have no problem with driving them to see friends or to the Y for exercise.
