I live close to Plano, Tx and I have to say I'm so glad that the kids get to bring religious gifts to school tomorrow! What is really sad is that the high school's in Plano are locally called the Pharmacy's because of all the drugs that run through the school. Plano has more kids who dies of drug over doses, suicides, etc... than any other city around here. Think that there is something going on in Plano? Yeah, they try and push God out and look where it gets them!

The issue with kids'problems in high school is the fault of parents who do not have time to talk and be involved with their kids; with our materialistic and narcissistic culture, with lack of spirituality a part of home life.
Religious teaching, spirituality and values are the role of parents/family/houses of worship....NOT the schools.

Religious teaching is not the role of the schools, unless they are parochial schools. Keep church and state seperate. Do you want the schools to teach about Allah?
To place the ills of society today because "God is not in our schools" is a real cop-out.

Here in North Central Texas I judged an art contest for an elementary school. The theme was "A different kind of hero." Most of the kids drew teachers, military relatives, firemen, astronauts and grandparents. One did Jesus on the Cross. I remarked to the teacher how lucky it was that there was evidently no policy against the drawing of a religious image for a project. She said "Not in the south." My niece is also a teacher here and she said she would never restrain such an activity because it was against the law.

So I just don't understand what is going on in other places. I would like to believe that these lawsuits you hear about are the combination of a prejudiced teacher, principle and judge. When you are unlucky enough to get all three in combination your freedom of expression goes out the window.
