=== As to the subject of the thread, my post #34 stands unrefuted.

So does my use of "wimmen".

=== I'm a woman. I'm not a "wimmen", whatever the hell that's supposed to be.

For someone so particular about grammar, you managed to overlook my use of "one of THOSE wimmen" just as neatly as you overlooked the affirmative statements by Bush and by his bureaucracy's report that -- though there is uncertainty involved (yes, you heard that right, dear) -- humans are "most likely" and "in large part" responsible for global warming.

You do realize that "is" and "are" actually are the exact same verb? If you're going to latch onto "there IS uncertainty (in science)" it's only fair you place, at a minimum, the same emphasis on "IS due to (humans)" and "ARE due to (humans)"

It's important to have that kind of confidence across the board. Otherwise there's just no defending the blowing of 4.5 BILLION dollars on "uncertain" climate change Science Stuff simply because some confused politicians and bureaucrats have got into the habit of repeating unfounded rumors planted by the American Academy of Sciences that humans are most likely and in large part responsible for global warming and greenhouse gases ("whatever the hell that's supposed to be").

You're a bitch, I take it?

I'm afraid you either don't understand or are deliberately misrepresenting President Bush's position on "global warming".

I suspect the latter.

I'll be happy to apologize for being a bitch (in kind) if you have a shred of substantive foundation for your suspecting that I "deliberately misrepresent" anyone, including President Bush.

No, I didn't "overlook" it. (You seem prone to mistaken presumptiveness.)

I confess to not being up on what the meaning behind spelling "women" as "wimmen" is, but I certainly had an idea you meant to belittle, mock and insult me and lump me in with a group. Did I need to write a dissertation commenting on every level of your fascinating post? I think not.

I think my writing and thinking is plain and is no cause for shame that it betrays my femaleness.

As to your twisting yourself into pretzels to make the President take a position he does not, whatever pleases you. I simply pointed out that as far as I can tell you are wrong.

I don't ask for any apologies. I admit my own comments deserve the label, as well.

The bottom line is that GWB does not know his ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to the notion of global warming or global cooling. IMHO you are in the same position except you readily adopt the leftist-elitist intelligentsia ( few are real scientists) who fantasize any implausible lie ( e.g.the spotted owl) is a good weapon to use against the west and to further their socialist tendencies and feather their own nests at the same time.

I hope you do not feel that I despise socialists, their objectives, their lies, their hypocrisy and their Junk Science.

The earth may be warming but the evidence cannot be evaluated accurately. Solar cycles probably have more to do with it than anything else. How else can one explain that the amount of CO2 in the air was higher early in the 20th century than it is now and yet it was cooler then.

I can accept that things might be somewhat warmer over the very short run but I refuse to believe that this is caused by humans or even that it is, in itself, a bad thing.

Are you the same "farmfriend" who was yukking it up with the Clown Posse lately or did some schmuck steal your handle?

I have been exercising my right to free association, yes. I have also been known to post on Liberty Forum and Liberty Post though not recently.

Pretzels ... odd.

No twisting necessary. He says he's against "stem cell" research too. (Or so the Kerry campaign would have you believe.) But how can that be so?

Actions speak even louder than words.

Sorry about the cross ones we had.

Some free associations -- like for-profit "Free Speech" -- tend to cost you.

You're one of the only, besides me, I know of who's used their own name when spelunking.

Well, you're 1/3 right...

Warming is almost certainly not caused by humans. Modern humans, though, were probably caused by warming.

It doesn't matter whether or not you accept what nature dishes out-what happens, happens. Whether or not we are in a +/- 20 degrees F climate shift is important-if the earth were (on average) twenty degrees warmer or cooler, our lives would undergo changes as large as the ones that started our civilization (or ended the last one, if you're a believer in all that Atlantean stuff).

Except for a major solar event (in which case we're all fried no matter what kind of car you drive) I don't think changes like that are at all likely. Increases in temperature along the lines of a few degrees of over a century are probably something the earth can adapt to. 75% of the surface is ocean and it is very effective in moving heat load. The earth is an adaptive system, if it wasn't we wouldn't be here to discuss it.

Yes, things are going swimmingly (or should I say skatingly) in rapidly cooling New Hampshire.

Hope you are well, haven't seen you around much.

Your point on this thread gets 50 points for subtlety.

Merry Christmas.

I completely agree. I think you and I would disagree on the interpretations of President Bush's actions, though.

Sorry about the cross ones we had.

I am sorry, too.

Merry Christmas, Askel.
