He blew it, big time, on this one.Oh for goodness sakes, give the man a break. Autopen sigantures on documents that the Secretary has approved and signed off on has been the Washington way of business for a long long long long time. Until it was brought to his conscious attention, neither he nor anyone around him probably even thought about it. As has been previously discussed, these letters are traditionally written by the unit CO.

Doubia's lining up Wolfowitz for the top job.Given how Washington works, that is really highly unlikely. Cabinet officers are expected to bring a substantial amount of political support with them. Wolfiowitz is neither a formerly elected politician, captain of industry nor well-known representative of a minority group.

In a separate statement, Pentagon spokesman Lawrence Di Rita said, In the interest of ensuring timely contact with grieving family members, he has not individually signed each letter.I guess you missed this little statement here, huh? I suppose it would be better, in your opinion, for families to wait weeks before they even learn about the fate of their loved ones, just so the letter that informs them is signed by the Secretary of Defense.

Uninformed because I don't know a radio personality? Are you kidding me? Radio "personality" is one step above circus clown in the entertainment ladder.Monica Crowley was involved with the Nixon Administration. She is not just a radio personality. If you were the tiniest bit informed about conservative issues, you would know that.
Bet you know Howard Stern real well, though.

She was in the Nixon admin as what? Press officer? Or policy wonk?
My point, Lady is that just because they are on the radio does not mean I give them credibility. I am asking for some background all I get so far is she is a doctor of some kind (doctor of what?) and she worked for the Nixon admin (in what capacity?).

Good morning.
Destro, buddy, you didn't read my post #128.
Monica Crowley holds a Doctorate in International Relations as well as a couple of Masters Degrees. She has also written a couple of books. She wasn't a part of Nixon's administration but she was Nixon's foreign policy adviser after he left office. She has been a presence in conservative politics for years which is probably why you have never heard of her.

Your nastiness would have more impact if you would spell check. Sorry but you brought up my proofreading history now you have to live with it.

No, of course not. Don't make such asinine assumptions.
