According to the Times UK: Mr Rumsfelds failure to sign more than 1,300 condolence letters personally,
a traditional duty of Defence Secretaries, was revealed by the in-house military newspaper Stars and Stripes.

Thanks, but I'd prefer an American source. I don't trust European newspapers to tell me about American customs/traditions.
Actually with their credibility being as low as it is, I'm not quite sure I trust American newspapers to do so either...

Good morning.
"According to the Times UK...."
You cite the Times UK, which is no friend of the war effort, based on information from Stars and Stripes, which is not an "in-house military newspaper" and which is also not a friend of the war effort, as support for your jihad against Rumsfeld.
Since this is the season of giving I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you are deluded rather than calling you disingenuous.
