Did you ever see such a mix of good and bad things they said about him? I guess he is the man they love to hate.

I heard that Time no longer calls it "Man of the year" but Person of the year. PC.

Anyway Congrats President Bush.

The magazine's editors tapped Bush "for sharpening the debate until the choices bled, for reframing reality to match his design, for gambling his fortunes — and ours — on his faith in the power of leadership."

I'd call it a backhanded compliment except it's not. It's a knife wound of bitter words and grapes that are so sour they've turned into acid.

Evidently the editors at TIME consider the Red State people of this country as orphans who've rejected the daddy they chose for us and are now slamming the tin bowl of porridge in our faces and saying "It was your choice, now eat it."

The American GI was Time's 'person of the year' in 2003.

The American Soldier

They swept across Iraq and conquered it in 21 days. They stand guard on streets pot-holed with skepticism and rancor. They caught Saddam Hussein. They are the face of America, its might and good will, in a region unused to democracy. The U.S. G.I. is TIME's Person of the Year

We should all remember how President Reagan was disliked by the media.
As a matter of fact, even dead the left still thrashes him.
Did we forget when he passed away?
And we all know, that Reagan was the Greatest President of the 20th Century.

Wrong - Bush is the Man of the Year and not the Person of the Year.

Actually, history will name this guy, Bush the Great,

Wow, first the Supreme Court award and now the Times Man award. Which award does Bush hang on the wall first?

"The magazine gives the honor to the person who had the greatest impact, good or bad, over the year."

How long do you think i will take the perky Katie or some other MSM'r to point out that Hitler was also named Man of the Year. Frankly, I expected that would be in the body of the article.

Kelly said Bush has changed dramatically since he was named Person of the Year in 2000 after the Supreme Court awarded him the presidency. <<

Jeesh, I must have missed the fact that Bush got more votes in Florida and won the electoral college. Time does research its articles, right?

In the Time article, Bush said he relishes that some people dislike him.
"I think the natural instinct for most people in the political world is that they want people to like them," Bush said. "On the other hand, I think sometimes I take kind of a delight in who the critics are."

A man is in many ways identified by who his enemies are. Ted Kennedy, Al Gore, Hollyweird, Michael Moore and the French are the worst. The above tells me that Bush get's it.

He could care less if they don't like him.
I like that!

I can't believe they'd even consider Michael Moore.

who cares? I do... but solely in the context of seeing my enemies (because that is what the left in this country is, our enemy) dig their self-anointed hole ever deeper to the point of irrelevance.

Things like, "for sharpening the debate until the choices bled, for reframing reality to match his design, for gambling his fortunes — and ours — on his faith in the power of leadership.", or "Kelly said Bush has changed dramatically since he was named Person of the Year in 2000 after the Supreme Court awarded him the presidency..." used to get me enraged, but no longer. These clowns imagine their selves as the emperors, and yet still they continue to shed what few clothes they have left.

Common sense, faith in family, God, in the blessed wisdom of our Founding Fathers... and our modern-day ability to engage in the "townsquare" discussion (talk-radio, internet, blogs, FreeRepublic) give me an increasing sense of confidence that We the People of the United States of America will continue to do the right thing. Our leftist enemies will continue to breed themselves out through their love of abortion, until all that is left of their creed can be stored under the asshole of a gnat on the backside of an elephant.

More Time Magazine typos to fix.

Kelly said Bush has changed dramatically since he was named Person of the Year in 2000 after the Florida Supreme Court had to be smacked down for illegally trying to awarded him Gore the presidency.

"Many, many Americans deeply wish he had not won," Kelly said in a telephone interview. "And yet he did."

Over 4 million more Americans deeply wished for him to win, and we did.

Bite me, Kelly.

I was waiting for Michael Moore, wabbling jowls and all, to be Front and Centre. I noticed that in trying to compare him to Mel Gibson, they had to put in a lot of caveats about the fact that Michael Moore was in it for the money and Mel really believed what he was saying and didn't care if he made any money at all. (Although one of the commentaries I did see, the woman commenting initially said both men were in it by "tapping into the feeling of the country". I liked the fact that all the shots of Moore showed how grossly overweight, grubby and unpleasant he is.
