Yes, of course we know very well anyone who the kids may be with. They would never be left with a stranger. Again, who in their right mind would not take the time to find out who their children are with? It does not take a lot of time or energy. Extensive background checks should always be done on anyone who works with children. You should check personal references, speak to other employers, etc., Parents should never make the careless mistake of assuming this has been done also. They MUST find out and get verification for themselves. Ask to see the actual background checks of teachers, church workers, day care workers, anyone. Maybe someone to busy shopping, working out or hanging out with their girlfriends may not have time to do this, I can under stand there busy schedule. (Not) Some are just LAZY and SELF INVOLVED and assume someone is watching the sheep when it is their job to be watching for wolves!

And another thing, anyone who says a parent's desire to know anything and everything they possibly can find out about a stranger before they let them near one of their children is not worth one more second of time. The fact is, that kind of careless, arrogant attitude is stupid and negligent.

A parent IS very much completely responsible 100% for their child's safety, it is their job to be nosy SOBs and find out if there is any dirt on the babysitter, the cub scout leader, the parents next door if your kids hangs out over there, and if some coward of a parent is to worried about stepping on toes than they shouldn't of had kids. This is what parents are suppose to do, scare the hell out of any perv who even thinks of looking cross eyes at their kids.
