OK...which is it? Is it that you don't like gambling, don't like Indians, or both?Actually, I don't really care either way about gambling or indians. I don't gamble, but I don't care if other people gamble. And native americans are just people like everyone else. Whether or not I like them depends on what they do, not who their parents are.
Here is what I don't like:
- People who expect the taxpayer to work so they don't have to. This means welfare leeches. The reservation system is just another form of welfare.
- Treating people differently because of the accident of their birth. Everyone should have equal opportunity. If the indians are allowed to build casinos, then so should everyone else. If I can't build a casino, then neither should they.
- Corporations who take advantage of the unjust special rights of indians by using the tribes as a front to start an otherwise illegal business, and that then pretend the business is just to help the poor hungry welfare recipient indians. The whole scam is unjust and dishonest.
Fair enough. My opinion is that Indians got a raw deal for hundreds of years, so I'm OK with them having a special arrangement, which derives treaties signed by our government long ago.
