Interesting. Looks like we don't need to take Schwarzenegger's advice and "move to the Left." Looks like people are leaving the Left and moving to us. w00t!

Thanks for the post...

...a thought: "Dang copyright laws" are an important part of private property and intellectual property protection....if everything is in the public domain, there's no profit incentive and all we have left is Pravda and CBS--but I'm being redundant....

For quite some time, the dems of the South have been dems in name only. Finally they are starting to officially change parties--their politics parted ways with the national dems long ago.

"Three more step into the light..."

...those who are knowingly living lives of hatred, lying and deception no doubt envy those of us who deal in the truth. Some make their own Pilgrim's Progress and join us....the door is open, c'mon in and welcome!

The only place for a truly reconstructed Southern Democrat is in the Republican Party

No, the Reps ARE moving to the left to my chagrin. The country is allegedly divided for two reasons. A. The conservative philosophy is growing and B. Those that can't beat us are joining us, at least on paper. We have enought RINOs. We need real Constitutionalists!

Not quite sure if I agree with that..for the last 20 yeras, it's been OK to to vote for GOP nationally, yet still keep the local Dem officials..the problem for those local Dems is, witht he GOP controling the WH, all of Congress..and most likely the state governorships,a nd much of the state legislature..if you need something locaalyt..who are you supposed to call?..These local changes, while welcome, are probably more due to expediency..

Bush & Cheney 10,909
Kerry & Edwards 5,277
Peroutka & Baldwin 21
Nader & Camejo 83
Badnarik & Campagna 28

Jim Bunning 8,544
Daniel Mongiardo 7,269

Ron Lewis 9,867
Adam Smith 4,995

Given those results for Presidential and Congressional candidates, I think the Shelby county officials are realizing which way the wind is blowing.

You're right to some degree, but I think I'm also right to some degree. If you believe people like Sen. Shelby of Alabama (used to be a dem then changed over) and Zell Miller, they felt the dem. party nationally had moved far away from where the southern dems were. Some of that same feeling probably applies to the local officials who have been voting GOP with great frequency and feel no need to stay part of a party they no longer align with. However, some local officials probably feel a pragmatic pressure to be more in line with their state's congressional reps and senators. It's probably a mixture of both reasons.

I see your point..regardless of wh..it's all good news. As the south is even more solidly GOP..then the real elections will be in the GOP primaries.and the more conservative candidates will emerge, to win the general election..this will shift the center of gravity of the party nationally to ther right..

Maybe it's just my paranoid nature, but I suggest you keep a very close eye on these yahoos. A favorite tactic of the left has always been to destroy the system from within.

Keep them under lock and key until they prove themselves worthy. If they don't dump 'em over the side.

Besides, never trust a turncoat. If they'll turn on their own, sooner or later, they'll turn on you.

It's actually a different situation in the rural parts of Kentucky. In those areas (Shelby Co. being one of them) it used to be that a Republican could NEVER get elected to local office. So, many people with political ambitions, would register Democrat, even if ideologically they were more Republican. Now that it's becoming easier to be elected as a Republican, some of them are switching over. I know a little bit about these particular folks and I assure you that they are most welcomed in the GOP!

I dont see much republicanism from the republicans please explain the difference both parties seem to support the same bloated government bills as does the supposedly conservative president who favors open borders, and out of control spending he also wants Israel to lay down and let
the arab world finish them off the same thing Kerry wanted
what is the difference?
